Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why did GS change GTAIV rateing form a 9.5 to a 10

A 10 is supposed to mean no flaws and yet this is what they say

The Good

  • Superb character-driven story
  • Liberty City really does feel alive
  • Multiplayer modes that let 16 players go wild across the entire city
  • Genuinely funny radio and TV shows, comedy acts, and character dialogue
  • Controls are much improved over previous games.

The Bad

  • Occasional problems with friendly AI
  • Some minor visual quirks

They got some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ from some very rich people, and didn't want them to get angry.

1. Do we even know for sure it happened?

2. Put it in by mistake?

3. Scored one version 10 and other 9.5, then realized both should the same

4. It's a conspiracy, sponsor paid review, blah blah blah.

Gamespot has been rather shady for quite some time. I know a former EIC of a certain major magazine who ratted on much of the media in his editorials and though he never mentioned anyone by name or publication, Gamespot was really high on his list of partaking in advertiser pay outs.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

It most certainly did happen. I saw it first hand as did many many other people.

In your opinion. Obviously not to most reviewers.

Wow the number of threads that question the reviews of GTA4 must be in the twenty something range now. That really lightens the forum up LOL.

The bigger question...why are you crying about it? LOL

Its the best game ever made, does it not deserve a 10?

Goodness... GTAIV brings out the new accounts! Welcome all! They probably did it to avoid being flamed by the boards for a "poor" review.
