Forums - Sony - Metal Gear Solid 4 Graphics Question.

@Slimebeast, I'm not so sure that was pre-rendered at all. This is comming from Kojima, who I'm not sure has ever used a CG video in his life xD Event the first metal gear solid on PS1 used in-game cutscenes.

Yeah it does look slightly plastic ish but I still have never seen such clarity in a console game as far as character models look, that trailer is absolutely outstanding in my opinion and the graphics almost shame those of the fake killzone trailer :P I saw this on my big-screen tv on the MGS 2.0 dvd and I think there is a pretty big difference between it and the current build.

So can I assume this WASN'T done on PS3 hardware? Because I think thats sick xD

I've seen better, but you know that was when the cell had powerz. That was probably when Konami thought more of the ps3 in terms of graphics. They even said that they weren't able to bring out what they hoped for in terms of graphics, but had to downgrade them.

Kojima the crazy man said that, not Konami the company.

I predicted I'd be able to jump onto the roof of my house this morning, and then I had to hella downgrade my expectations when I could barely even jump over my pool.

hmm... actually, hard as it is for me to believe I'm saying this, but that honestly doesn't look breathtaking to me anymore. Sure it's really good (especially the non-human sprites) but it's not THAT good imo. It made me laugh then and it still made me laugh at how much that "walker's" HUD looks like the one in the robot at the end of The Incredibles...

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

i think they look the same but if you can see such a difference its probably because if it was made in 2005 then it probably aint running on atual ps3 hardware. dont quote me on this tho because i am not to sure

It's funny that it says "Forget Pre-rendered Stuff!" when the movie obviously is pre-rendered.

Konami lying punks.

I think he means in game cut scenes, like Blizzard games, or FF games. Not that the trailer is not a target render.
