Forums - Gaming - GTAIV Helping Other Games Become Better?

A recent thread about GTAIV possibly hurting other games review scores got me thinking in the other direction.    Many publishers have delayed their games so as not to coincide with the launch of GTAIV (except Nintendo but they're crazy like that).   While none of us enjoy delays, they do offer one really great benefit.   I'll let Time Magazines's 100 Most Influential people poll winner explain.

Shigeru Miyamoto -  A bad game is bad forever, a delayed game is eventually good.

It's impossible to know just how many games were actually delayed all due to GTAIV's release this week but the chances are that some of them will now be better games because of it.

So with that, thank you Rockstar North, Rockstar Games and GTAIV for making our games just a little better.

haha...good way of thinking.
But it works the opposite way too. Halo 3 was rushed to come out well before GTA4...then Bungie released it in september and were later told GTA4 is not coming out October 31. Its what I call a cock'n'balls sandwich.

Huh, you lost me...

Are you saying GTA IV is the template?

or

Are you saying games got delayed so more though can be placed in them?

or

Are you saying GTA's is now the standard in quality?

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

And the answer is...

I like your way of thinking :) Instead of being mad because they're delayed, you look at the positive side. If everybody were like that, the world would be a place with less lawyers.
