ya, read some reviews epinefridis! everyone says the ps3 version looks better. like bobobologna said, wheres the dirty sony propaganda?! the microsoft camp has been scrutinizing every game that has came out in the last year or more and the 360 looked better. now that a ps3 game looks a bit better than the 360 version, you have to say it makes no difference and that you think the 360 version is better graphically when every review goes agains that. believe you or dozens of credible reviews... now microsoft, didnt they send around an email to EVERYONE with a list of things you could be doing with the ps3's 5 minute install time? turns out that install time cuts load times down considerably, what a slap in the face microsoft! in the end people want to see what game is better even if it is extremely close. sony finally came out ahead on this one without "dirty propaganda". also did you expect the ps3 to sell more? considering the 360 has 6 million MORE consoles out there, the chance are slim to non. its pretty amazing though that the ps3 has done as good as it has after microsoft and all its fanboys spread so many rumours about the non existant DLC. get your facts straight and then come back talk.
The one thing I went from PC's to console for was ease of use. Installs are a major downer for the consle world.

were talking 5 minutes or less. would you install a game for 5 minutes to have 30 second less load times on average?! lets see.. if im doing my math right you would need 10 loads in the game to average that out. the game loads at the begging of every mission and whats there about 90 or 100 missions?(IGN walkthrough said something around that i think) after your first 10 missions you average out the time. this does not even count all of the other random times you have to load. my point was also that microsofts email basically cutting the ps3s version of GTA down with false information was a stupid thing to do and ultimately made them look even worse! maybe the info wasnt false and im over exaguratnig the situation, i mean i dont expect them to advertise there competators product but why even say anything at all. i know everyone on this forum will say well its business but cant they win their fight without being complete douche bags at the same time? i dont see sony doing stuff like this and they seem to be making it.

I think it's funny that all those fanboys that slagged off Halo 3 for only being 640p are now saying it doesnt matter. Because guess what it's a PS3 game. I laughed long and hard at this.
I laugh at you and your clueless yet entertaining fanboyizm.

can't see the first post anymore cause leo is pb

Do any of you actually own GTAIV? The only reason i'd come to argue about if it is greater on my console than on others is if i didn't own the game and just want my console to do better.. seriously just go play the bloody game

What happened to the first post? I can't see it anymore.

I am SuperLloyd!

(Im)patiently awaiting the Dawn of the New World!

The real reason why these pointless arguments persist is not to state why one version of GTAIV is better than the other, but to some how prove which CONSOLE is the better piece of hardware.

Foolish? Yes.

Will it stop? No.

Does the performance of GTAIV serve as the ultimate benchmark for which system is "better?" No.

Performance on both consoles is a moving target. GTAIV only serves as the current benchmark due to its commercial and critical success, not that these aren't obvious reasons to use the game as a measuring stick.

Most will agree that there are better looking games on both consoles though.

Re: specific issues on each version, particularly the resolution issue. The 640p issue for Halo 3 seemed relevant because it was supposed to be the hardware benchmark standard for the 360. Bungie opted to place priority on lighting effects and frame rate over output resolution. It was their call.

By comparison, what resolution do all the other versions of Halo 3 run at? 000p. There aren't any.

My personal issue with the output resolution was that it made the game look more jagged than it should have when displayed at 720p. And it looked excessively softened/blurred at 1080p. Did it detract from the way the game played? Not at all. But again; this was supposed to be the benchmark game for the 360, and the fact that it could have looked smoother was a disappointment.

Now if GTAIV (have to pick up my mail next week) looks as jagged as Halo 3 due to the lower output resolution, then I have an issue if the 360 version looks significantly smoother. Would it make me go out and buy the 360 version in addition? No. Not unless I have freeze issues that seem to be a legitimate problem on the PS3 if aren't worked out by the time I start playing.

The only people who seem to care about comparing GTAIV versions of the game are the single console, polarized opinion gamers, when the gamers who should REALLY care about which version is better are those who own both consoles, and are simply trying to determine which version to play.
