Thats not true, simply because Nintendo is catering for the expand audience doesnt mean that theyre ditching the core gamer crowd. And since when did Nintendo say that? Link? I think you just influenced by 3rd party developers propoganda to justify their shovelware/casual crap on the Wii. And yeah, after the Wii fit phenomenon the market that these "casual developers"  wants to cash-in just simply saturated while the "core gamer" crowd that HD console market wants to cash-in just simply shrinking. So its a lose-lose to these developers and publishers if they want to continue this.

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

 

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

 

E3 2010- Tape runs out
