I was watching South Park and all of the sudden the Playstation logo popped out. Wouldn't you know, it was GTA4. At the very end of the commercial, you'd think there would be an Xbox 360 along side the Playstation 3 logo at the very bottom like most multi-platform games, but there wasn't one Microsoft logo in sight. 

Do you think this will significantly impact sales--whether it be of PS3 consoles or GTA4 for PS3? 

Doubt it, I've seen 3 for 360 only.

i have only seen 360 gtaiv adds. but when i mentioned it to be older brother he said yh well everyone already knows this games going to the ps3 anyway

You know that Rockstar probably don't pay any cent for the advertisements?

This game is so popular that Sony and MS are trying to get the most GTA owners on their side thats why you will see commercials with only the X360 or PS3 logo because they pay for it.

Honestley I think people are reading too much into the commercials and logos. The myspace ad was probably the most effective and it didnt support either console. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I've only seen the ps3 logo for it. I think Sony is focusing alot in the NA market while M$ is focusing heavily in the European market. Because every GTA4 ad i've seen ONLY has the ps3 logo at the end.

most ps3/360 always have the xbox 360 ads

like rock band, the commercial always ends with the 360 logo

hmm in Australia i have seen ALOT of GTA IV advertisments ( 4 commercials by Rockstar during Underbelly last night ) .

and a few posters by M$ ...

In the end though i doubt the SONY / M$ advertising will have much effect on the platform people buy the game for .

Microsoft and Sony each have their own advertising campaigns for GTAIV. It does affect sales but not just for Sony. 360 has it's fair share of tv adverts, posters and especially online ads.

So sometimes u see sony ads, and sometimes 360.
