Forums - Nintendo - To all of you who say MKWii doesn't look better than MKDD...

#1, have you even played it?

#2, have you seen these direct comparisons?

Hauted tracks for...

Wii:

DD:

Highways:

And the best comparison, Bowser's Castle:

Is there anyone who can look at those screens and seriously tell me there is no difference, or even that DD looks better?!? The Bowser's Castle shot is the most telling of the difference between the two.

To me, the lighting, color, poly count, scenery, and characters all look significantly better. That's not to say that it's pusing the limits of the Wii by any stretch, it wasn't designed to, but it is a marked improvement.

It does look better, but the real issue is that Nintendo, as proven with SMG and SSBB, could have done much better. Not that I am really complaining as for a game like this I really don't care, they still could have put a little more effort into it.

Eeesh.. you picked some really poor shots for comparison :( I'm sorry I'm REALLY used to the PS3 hardware, they look identical :( In fact I think in some the DD versions look better >

I agree with you, but it must also be noted that none of those games had to be able to run in 4-player split screen mode.

the big differnece is 16:9 to ....well you get the idea

I agree those pics don't really do justice >.>

I'd prefer smooth, flawless graphics then really great looking ones for Mario Kart. Hell, Super Mario Kart is still fun, and Mario Kart DS is godly.

And I never wanted to play Mario Kart DS, the graphics turned me off. When, finally, I played it....it was all over.

Though I can't say I see much difference between the screens, guess I'll have to play it to see.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

I'm just saying from a COMPLETELY un-biased viewpoint, the character models and colors look better in the DD version of the game :( the environments look kinda basic on both >

This is the kind of thing I'm talking about. Which DD screens looked better and why??

#1, Haunted track: Wii clearly has clearer textures, better lighting, and more polished colors (less 'primary color' looking)

#2, Admitedly not the best Wii screen, but the road texture is clearly sharper, the lighting is better, and it has a slightly more polished feel overall.

#3, Not even close. Wii has MUCH better textures (Pull out your reading glasses and look at the roadway textures and railings), significantly better lighting is obvious, poly count is much higher, and has a much cleaner, sharper look overall.

I'm not saying MKWii's visuals are amazing, just that people like you just have no freaking clue what they're talking about and are just trying to get a rise with trolling. I'm not trying to compare this game to 'PS3 visuals', because that would be stupid. I'm just making the point that it is an improvement over the last game.

 What.

SMG looked amazing, and was graphically leaps and bounds beyond Mario Sunshine.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
