I am 100% serious.  

Vyse, the main character of SoA that will be guest starring in Valkyria, is also 100% superior to Lloyd in every way.

Anyway, I think my brother my get it, seeing as how he loves fantasy stuff, but SoA won't affect his decision at all.

Temporarily anyway.  So... did you really just call an opinion biased?  That's kind of like saying the sun is hot or water is wet...

But even so, I'm pretty amazed just how much better this game is than Tales of Symphonia.  My only real complaints with Skies of Arcadia would be the battle system has a few problems, it needs a few more save points in dungeons, and I wish a few special NPCs were actually unlockable playable characters instead.

Anyway, how do you unlock Vyse in Valkyria Chronicles? Or is that yet to be revealed?

Yep.  He wields a pair of cutlasses though as you can see in the picture, he uses one more like a tonfa than a cutlass.

I'm at 38 hours in it and I still haven't finished it yet.  I'm guessing it's probably about 40~45 hours long total.

It has random battles.  The good news is that you can get an item that makes them VERY rare later on and with an upgrade to your airship, you can avoid all random battles on the world map if you like.  Some of the longer dungeons will have a lot of battles though (more or less expected).

All opinions are going to be biased.  That's what makes them opinions and not facts.  If you haven't played Skies of Arcadia I think you should, as I'm pretty sure you'll have a similar opinion after you do.  ^_^

And, I don't feel the need to hunt for the game, if a sequel is made, I might get it, but I probably won't play the original, way too lazy to force myself to get it. Too occupied with MK: Wii and Brawl.

I'm very close or at least I feel like I am.  I got it a couple of weeks ago.  Were it not for my nightly games of Brawl, I'd have finished it long before now but I'm definitely going to finish it before the end of the weekend.

Skies of Arcadia is a great game. I have beaten it, but that was a good few years ago now. It is VERY long though. I remember it took me forever to beat it.

As for Vyse in Gallian Chronicles, you can add or remove people to / from your crew fairly early on in the proceedings, and new soldiers become available as you progress. I'm almost certain he just becomes available at some point.

I'll check if he is selectable for me next time I fire it up. I'm onto chapter 9. Vyse is an assault soldier (category), and I don't really have any need for more of his type at the moment, so it is possible he is already selectable and I have just overlooked him.
