Its based on Europe in WW2, but EA probably owns the rights to that as well, so they went fictional on us =P.

Hmm, I just thought. Surely Sega wouldn't build a brand new engine for just one game. Surely, there has to be cell shaded games coming to PS3 or 360.

Hopefully a sequel.

I'm REALLY hoping this game succeeds against all odds. I've been calling for this kind of gameplay and SRPG for a couple years now. Of course no one has heard me cause i've just been bitching about it to my friends and about how the gameplay was really sollid in the only SRPG i've ever seen to use the format. (Future Tactics which you can get for like... 4-5 dollars new. I just saw it the other day for that at a freakin savealot.  Characters suck, weapons upgrade system sucks, but the gameplay is awesome.)

I watched the one video... is this set in WW2 or something? I mean I knew the weapons were WW2ish, but with fantasy features... but the Gallia chronicles thing through me off.... but i could of swore one of the maps said Eastern Europe.

Valkyria Chronicles is set in a fictional WW2 setting. So yes, that was Eastern Europe you were looking at.

I was hinting at a possible Skies sequel on PS3 using that engine. While I highly doubt it will happen (which it 90% won't), but it would be amazing to see it on PS3.

I really hope this game sells well and turns out to be as much fun as it looks like.

I was first doubtful about those 2 cameos, but when I saw actual gameplay with Vyse in it I surely believed it. Can´t wait for Valkyria Chronicles.

The setting is actually fictional pre-WW2, from what I´ve seen it takes place during 1935, don´t know if it reaches up to 1939 and on.

I figured. The whole "Tha Aliance" vs I forget what they had listed for the Germans really through me off.

It's funny, two awesome looking WW2 fictional WW2 shooters and their on opposite consoles.  Neither of which I currently own.  Eh, time to start working out a budget so i can figure out how to purchase both systems before Christmas.

I seriously doubt this engine would have anything to do with Skies of Arcadia. It functions completely differently. SoA is most likely not going to be revived. If it is revived it will most likely be on the Wii.  Remember most games aren't built with multi-functional engines.

More on topic: I really want this game.

Ah, the memories.... I can't wait till this game comes out.

Skeeuk, it doesn't have a firm release date, but according to IGN, it's coming out in November.

NOOO it suppose to release in September *grrrrr*. Oh well as long as LBP release in September and Disgaea 3 in August, there's nothing to worry about....yet. Could be a hint, could be not, just like a Dark Cloud character will appear in White Knight Chronicles

Yeah, I still need to play Skies of Arcadia...but I will be more encouraged now that I know they are making this game. At least my RPG backlog isn't anywhere near as bad as it used to be.

It's the same for me.  I just need about 3 more games out to justify a PS3 to myself.  Currently I have 4 I'd want on PS3... only 1 released so far....   Borderlands could be another one, though i have a feeling my roommate will get it for his 360.

well, even if there are only a handfull of games that i want, i sold my psp and borrow cash and bought a ps3 just last saturday. i figured, with gtaiv, then mgs4, and valkyria, plus some backlog games (uncharted, assassins creed, heavenly sword, etc etc), i'd be occupied until ffxiii comes out.

It's better than Tales of Symphonia.  By a lot.
