The Orange Box is a nearly perfect combination of story, gameplay, innovation, and multiplayer. Still, it probably doesn't deserve a 10 because too much of the content had been pre-released.

I'm not complaining that the reviewers don't think like me, I'm complaining because reviewers are buying into hype, ignoring flaws, not critically judging the title, and basically, not doing their job. Too many game reviewers are simply teenage fanboys who froth at the mouth for any piece of violent/sci-fi garbage a developer spews at them, they're just a little too big to fit into their Spider-Man Underoos anymore.

 I wonder how much that 10  those ads cost them.

It does seem everytime that GTA gets criticised it is always the violencea and I know that the game has a lot of it but still Rockstar are ambitious with their games. I really wish this discussion would have apperead little earlier with other games receiving 100%. Does not mean that it is just because of GTAIV it is more when people see games that they dont like receive highscores they usually complain about the reviewers.

rocketpig: You are fair most of the times but I am feeling little bitchy now. I agree with you about reviewers they lost all credibility last year for me.

I hope GameSpot dies slow. They just talked me out of ever even giving GTA4 a chance.

I don't really care about whether or not a 10 should be given out, but a lot of these sites seem a lot more willing to forgive flaws in GTA4 than they are for other games that aren't perfectly lined up with their hardcore fanboy tastes.
