Crisis Core, FF: Revenant Wings and The World Ends with You have shown signs of the old Square/Squaresoft.  I hope they can keep it up for their console games.

 

The Last Remnant looks really promising, FFXIII is said to feature an Advent Children type of combat that is completely controllable and FF Versus XIII looks like it has a deep and dark storyline (which the JRPG genre really needs more of).  Shoot, I believe SE is going redefine RPG's again with at least one of those, if not all. 

 

After Sakaguchi left, SE was kind of in a slump.  But now they seem to have found their magical touch again. YESS!

I'm happy with all FF games.. and can't wait for XIII, but i really can't wait till they remake VII.. they can't tease ya forever and make ppl think they won't , they will.. and thats what i really want!!

People might not agree, or even go as far as calling FFXII unplayable, but SE has always made very good games.

They are one of the top developers in the world

I wouldn't go so far as calling FF12:RV great, it was pretty much, gather all your troops, gang up on nearest bad guys. Replace all lost minions with nearest portal.

If Squaresoft got the original team together to make a Xenogears sequel I would really say they were on a roll. I never really followed the branched off games that were developed by another company as they looked totally different. Xenogears is one of the best RPG's I've ever played, maybe even the best.

Ok I did my part, I bought No More Heroes, but they were out of Zach and Wiki.

Ok got Zach and Wiki, now if I could just finally finish Twilight Princess so I can play all these Wii games I got waiting. And no I won't buy Okami.

DNF, now there is a game that should have been scrapped completely. Reminds me of a kid whose been in school for 12 years and still doesn't know what he wants to do. At one point you just need to man up and get a job.

Im positive they will consider a sequel as opposed to a remake because remember Genesis is still alive from FFVII-DOC and a sequel would be better than playing a game you already played before but it would be cool.

I guess you can't fault people for being hung up on FF7. For some younger gamers that was their "moment". But seriously it was better game then some people give it credit for but not the end all be all.

 If by that, you mean 3-4 characters standing in a line (or just standing about ala FFX-2) waiting for their 'turn' for me to pick and choose what they are going to do and then have some flashy animation, then cool.

Else, that doesn't sound right...(action based combat).
