Fucking bullshit, i love GTA more then just about anyone, putting about 1000 hours into the series but this is retarded, the game does not deserve this score. 10/10 for everything, give me a break, the driving is clearly broken, this is seen in the videos that are all over the net. The game also does not deserve a perfect score for graphics.

Past GTA titles have had mild-to-serious framerate issues and technical glitches, because the games were trying to do far more than the PlayStation 2 could handle. While GTA IV is pushing the PS3 and 360 to the limit, it also runs amazingly well. Sure, there are framerate hitches here and there and (particularly on 360) there is some texture pop-in, but it actually runs better than I expected. That a game with great AI, an awesome physics engine and a detailed open world runs so well and with such short load times is a technical marvel. The world is yours online.
The art team gets major kudos for creating a living world. There is great texture work in the environments, a nice field-of-vision blur of buildings in the distance, some excellently modeled cars, ball-jarring explosions, phenomenal water effects and one interesting-looking Eastern Euro for a lead character. Sure, it's not a game that runs perfectly all the time, but the technical elements almost never get in the way of the gameplay.

For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch. Either version will do you proud.

I hardly believe that the PS3 version is a perfect game overall. Maybe in IGN's eyes but there is not way in hell that game is PERFECT!

 I agree no game is perfect, but the PS3 version is better then the 360 one and thats all that matters.

hey has anyone even played yet?! who says it cant have a 10 out of 10. from what iv heard of people who have played it says its epic. whoever said it cant be 10 out of 10 for the ps3 version is an idiot. that makes no sence considering most reviews have said the ps3 version is better. (not including DLC, doesnt exist yet remmeber!)

Let me rephrase...I doubt that GTA4 is perfect in any way.

yes, as someone said on the IGN site:

"Not everyone is going to agree that the game deserves a 10, but the fact of the matter is Goldstein gave it the honor of receiving a 10/10 score from his experience. I'm not sure why people are making claims about why this game doesn't deserve a 10 when the game won't be released until Tuesday. In fact, in the review, Goldstein says, "A 10 doesn't mean a game is perfect -- it means a game is pushing boundaries, expanding a genre, and doing many things to a level so far above and beyond its competitors that they overshadows any flaws." I think that's a legitimate reason for giving the game a rating of 10/10."

he is completely right, i never thought that a 10 out of 10 meant the game was perfect. that actually makes no sence considering perfect is completely subjective to the different reviewers. like the quote said, if the games doing such big things that have never been done before thats a true 10
