[Link to OpenCritic page.] With 10s across the board including from IGN, could it be that Mixtape is the "indie darling" of 2026? Available for PS5, XBXSX, NS1, & NS2 at a measley $20USD price tag. Perhaps a game worth checking out.

I’m glad for its success, but I feel like it’s one of those games that sits firmly outside my comfort zone. I took a quick look at the blurbs and saw a lot of praise for narrative, music, character, and mood, but not many accolades regarding gameplay. Heck, one 10/10 review calls it “barely a game”.
I love that this sort of experience exists but I fear it’s not for me.

I'm holding out until I hear word-of-mouth. Critics aren't always the best in judging narrative experiences... I learned my lesson with TLoU:II. I'm also fine just skipping though being that I already have Bubsy, Mina, Yoshi, Star Fox, and Spaltoon over the next couple of months lol.
