95% of hate campaigns in video games come from the right. Trying to both-sides the discussion is not really helpful. Even a game like Stellar Blade that got some pushback didn’t have any real sustained campaign against it. I didn’t see any review bombing, I don’t think the actress that played Eve got death threats and YouTube is not filled with ragebait videos about it.

What can I say, I don't have a lot of patience for people come in and try to make everything about their toxic culture wars.

A large amount of the hate in the video game arena right now is toxic culture wars. That can’t be fixed by simply ignoring it and saying you don’t want to discuss it, or trying to minimize it by erroneously claiming the “other side” is just as bad.

A day after the Horizon: Hunters Gathering game was revealed there are over a dozen videos on YouTube attacking it for having a fat character, calling it woke and “Modern Audience”. There are some content creators that I looked at, after seeing their video for the game, and they only made ragebait videos. Every single video they ever made had some buzzword like Woke, DEI or Modern audience in the title. This is very much at the core of the issue.

Some people getting offended by a character like EVE is not the same. I doubt there are dozens of videos on YouTube calling the game misogynistic slop, made by people that make nothing but ragebait videos and feeding constant hate and negative discourse.

Nobody's excusing any of that, all that is terrible too. The post of mine you started off by quoting specifically called out that sort of alt-right rubbish.

All anyone was saying was that say bullying people for playing Hogwarts Legacy isn't acceptable either.
