Forums - Gaming - Metal Gear Online = TPS = 3rd Person Shite

What a disappointing experience, i know you can't judge something from your first few plays but i can't help it, we have been waiting and updating all week and i was pretty excited to finally connect to server but now i wish i hadn't. Graphics were ok except for an overuse of brown and grey, has the PS3 nothing else in its palette and the gameplay just seemed boring and old school, maybe its just me and it will turn out to be an online experience like no other but i doubt it

What are your thoughts on it

Honestly I don't see why people are so interested in the online version. Isn't the strength of this franchise the single-player mode?

If you are in the EU.  My guess is Japan is up as well.

Third-person games don't always translate well to online, Gears excluded, but I am still pretty excited to see what MGO has to offer.  I mean it isn't the selling point of MGS4, but I don't think Kojima is just going to make a shoddy experience.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Was Kojima working closely with the online game? I know they were originally 2 seperate developments and MGO was always meant to come out first.

Welcome to the next gen graphics :P

On topic, sorry, but you know how this is, they try to extend the use of a trademark and sometimes they pisses off some fans...

By me:

Made with Blender + LuxRender
"Since you can´t understand ... there is no point to taking you seriously."

The online thing is only because people think now a days you have online to be a successful game, which blows.

Maybe I am old school or something, but PC is the only online gaming that didn't have so many snotbags and penisheads running rampant in games. Don't get me wrong, PC has there share but it seems to me that PC gamers were more "mature" when dealing with them. Consoles, because of price of entry is lower and I guess it because they can be played in someone bedroom room, has breeded some of the most nasty little individuals I have ran into.

And I don't think we can blame Kojima on this one. MGO was mostly being developed in the American offices of Konami. Something tells that Kojima, like a lot of things, didn't want anything to do with the MGO part of the game.

I'm just saying...

Did anyone of you play the MGS3 online? It was weird to get used to, but the base of the game was cool. Basically it's for people who like Metal Gear gameplay + teamwork.

Am i the only one who actually loves it???

starter pack = free, why are you bitching about a FREE game?
