Yeah being aggressive and hostile with your beliefs is a sure-fire way to get people to turn against you and your ideology.
You don't win hearts and minds by lecturing people.

Are you talking about me lecturing others?

Well, the whole point is to uncover the truth through things like bringing forth evidence and even debate. If they didn't wish to be refuted then they shouldn't have disagreed with the person starting the thread. Come on now.

Or are you talking about the others? Well, the beliefs that they support haven't changed yet, and too many of the world's religious groups still hold rational that society should in some way discriminate. I have a problem with this.

"People like you are responsible for the Holocaust" is a bit uncalled for.

You're allowed to have your convictions, but this kind of hyperbole, (not to mention Godwin's Law) just kills any chance of reasonable debate.

Perhaps I'm wrong but aren't all 3 of you trying to tell me that I'm wrong for starting this thread in the first place?

No. I never said that.

Perhaps I'm wrong but it seems like everyone is saying that I'm wrong for starting this thread in the first place. I clearly said at the start that if ulyouve got a problem then the easiest thing would be to simply not come in here at all.

I have no problem with the thread, or with calling out religious discrimination.

I just felt the "people like you" post was a bit unnecessary as it's this kind of thing that causes polite debate to turn hostile.

I'm still at the point where I'm defending the very idea of the thread, instead of getting into it.

Another example of someone here that has dome the same thing is SvennoJ.  And nobody has said that he's wrong in his 1000 page Israel thread. But if people are going to come in here and say that I'm wrong even if it's in a nice way then I'm going to show how their viewpoint is harmful.

Completely fair. They knew not to come in here if they disagreed or had a problem but for certain kinds of people I guess that means you should come in and find a problem with the thread creator by telling him how hurtful he's being. Fair both ways in this area of competing opinions.

You can disagree with and rebuff people's opinions, but "people like you are why the Nazis killed millions" just isn't constructive or reasonable and will only cause discourse to break down into toxicity.

It also won't help your cause; if you want to further your ideology, you need to get people on your side, not push them away.

Thats fine. Without further adeau, I'm going to focus on the big 3 and how they have contributed to an intolerant climate.
