At this point... I have accepted that I am a hoarder of video games and the worlds largest video game museum in the Southern Hemisphere will open when I die.

I won't stop.

LMAO! Do you have an active wishlist? Any NA games you have been hunting for? I'm always checking shops around the USA, travelling a lot.

I only buy games day 1/full price if I intend to play them within the same year.

Otherwise I get them when they are $30 for complete editions, $20 for non-DLC games and bundled for all indie games.

I just play whatever I feel like and dont feel pressured - its a library which I can access for me rather than a backlog that I think and stress about.

My backlog is a nightmare and new games I want just keep coming
Even if I didn't work 9 to five and never slept I wouldn't be able to play them all

The value of North American games in Australia tends to be crap... Because you need an NTSC console and we are generally PAL, unless the platform isn't region locked of course.

I don't have a wishlist... I basically walk into a video game store and if I don't own it, I usually just buy it.
I have literal thousands of games that I have never even played.

That's the opposite of how I collect. I have a very determined wishlist. Some games cost over $300 for me. All killer no filler.

I buy maybe a game a year. See no reason to be throwing away money for games that just get put into a backlog.

I buy as I play usually. Of course sales happen and I often buy games ahead of time for that, but then I tend to play it within a year. I love JRPGs of course, and they take a massive amount of time if they are any good. So I don't really need to buy so many games.

I buy a lot more games than what I play. Several games I try out for a couple of hours before figuring out that they are not for me. But most of the games I buy are games that I like the concepts for and want to support even if I do not play them.
I often buy things for free-to-play games as well and never use the skins or whatever. Just because I got enjoyment out of them and wish them to continue existing.

I started over-buying games in the Wii / PS3 gen. I bet I have played maybe 3% of my digital games ( many are "free" games from PS plus). From that era on I also have physical games that are still in the shrink wrap. I was really bad through the WiiU and Switch / PS4 gens on both Physical and Digital (so many good deals to be had).
These days with Switch 2 and PS5 I am much better. I still buy some digital titles on sale but not very often. I have no Physical PS5 games and I have only bought 2 Physical S2 games DK that I have finished all but the DLC and CP2077 that I really only bought to support the devs for getting the whole game on a cart.
When I get a Steam account I will probably get a little stupid again but oh well.
