why do people like NG2? it's repetitive! and the setting and story are bad!!!!!

I agree it's repetitive. Fight a bunch of enemies through a linear level, fight a boss, then rinse and repeat. And, yes, the story is bit cheesy. But I could say the same things about Halo (except Halo has backtracking and no bosses). I still enjoy both games a lot. I don't play these types of games for the story. When I want a deep story, I'll play RPGs.

Perhaps it has to do with age. When I play NG2, it reminds be of all those old NES/SNES/GEN side-scrolling action games I used to play when I was a little kid. The games that were way more difficult than they should've been, but gave you a great feeling of satisfaction when you finally beat them. Except NG2 has better graphics and one of the best combat systems around.

Well..... I've played dynasty warriors for way too long?

That was like crack to me about 2 years ago.

I've never played the Dynasty Warriors series. Is it any good? In fact, I've pretty much avoided hack-n-slash games since I was 13 (when I got into RPGs). After a gaming hiatus, I bought my xbox used in late 2004 and picked up NGB simply because I loved the original NES series. It and NG2 are probably the only recent hack-n-slash games I've played since 2005. I've no interest in the DMC series.

Buy one dynasty warriors game for 25$, and that's all you'd need, they are all basically the same.

There is a demo for dynasty warriors: gundam on xbl, it's not as good as the traditional series, but it gives you an example of how the gameplay works.

Wait you play DW for 2 years and you are making fun of us playing Ninja Gaiden?!!?

Well, I used to play DW a lot too (but not as long as you have) back on Xbox 1 day.  I play DW3 extensively, bought DW4 on day one play it for an hour and realize what Koei was doing.

My son on the other hand still additct to DW and he just got DW: gundam and Bladestorm for his birthday.  It was on clearance so ...

Anyway, you don't need story for Ninja Gaiden.. it's kill , dismemberment, decapitate with occasional breast bouncing cutscene and then back to more killing and dismemberments.  What not to like?

I finish DMC4 but have no desire to play it again but NG2, I restart the game after I kill the final boss.

Technical issue aside, it's one of the best action game this gen when it come to fighting.

Ahaha @strategyking92. Youre just blasting games you know you wont be good at! :P ;)
Nah to be honest, I was completely bored (and slightly frustrated) about it after even chapter 2, which explains the reviews, but will get to the end eventually after my holiday.

Quick Update: mysticD and eNamrah going strong in the NG2 race, apparently until SleepWaking wows us with his offline tally.

I've finally made my first contribution to the 1000 club, and have fully topped COD4 ;)

After realising to actually keep calm (amazing how that works!) and not rush, Mile High Club wasn't actually too difficult on Veteran. My heart however was pounding on the very final moment to shoot the terrorist holding the hostage in the head. Pure intensity, pure adrenaline: awesome!

Woooooooooooooo!

What will be the next game after NG2 for medal contention? I suggest Soul Calibur IV releasing at the end of the month!

Hey guys i completed chapter 4 yesterday on NG2 and didn't even get an achievement for it!
I got the one for defeating Alexei though but i'm still confused!

Is there an achievement for completing chapter 4? Looks like i'l have to go back and do it again!

@ mysticD

The thing is, The setting for dynasty warriors is even better x.x
and i said I played it 2 years ago.... not that i've been playing it for 2 years now.

I'm not blasting hack n' slash or anything, I just really couldn't get into NG2.
DMC4 is alot better. (I've been meaning to buy it for 4 months now)

@ eagleyes

It's the setting I tell you! The setting!!!!

I think I read somewhere that you get achievements for doing certain chapters.
