Looks like I won't be getting crap for achievements for a little while. I decided to join Final Fantasy XI online and the achievemnts are INSANE! Seriously, looking at it, you would probably need to play for 2 or 3 years to even stand a chance at most of them. So, I have no hopes there, I may only play till Conan comes to 360. In the mean time I needed an MMO fix!

I saw that you were playing that, I was thinking "wtf?"

Why would you play that when there's a bunch of free crappy mmo's already out on pc, and guild wars?

Anyway, i'll wait for huxley before I get a console MMO.

Mainly because I can play it laying in bed and not sitting in a chair.  Plus, I love Final Fantasy, always have.... so it seemed like the thing to do.  It was only 20 bucks so if I don't like it, no big loss.

I wouldn't say it's crappy, just hardcore as hell.  I got used to WoW were you could make a new character, kick ass, grow quickly and get lots of stuff.  Final Fantasy is the opposite of that.

I still don't have Ninja Gaiden 2, I feel like I'm falling behind.

I thought it was good, based on the demo I played.

You obviously know nothing about games then. Stick to those very diverse and story driven arcade games you like.

Completed XBLA: 16 / 32
Completed Retail: 17 / 64
GS Completion %: 82.63%

oh, my arcade games? I get all of them for free, thanks to MS! (cept 2)

Maybe I could've liked it if it consisted of a more realistic japanese land, but instead, you get a future setting where instead of guns, you fight like a sword, it doesn't make any sense!
Instead of wasting his adrenaline on attacks he could go shoot grenade bullets at people, and when he hits them, the bullets blow up, oh the lighting effects...

Mass effect FTW with story-driven games

I agree it's repetitive. Fight a bunch of enemies through a linear level, fight a boss, then rinse and repeat. And, yes, the story is bit cheesy. But I could say the same things about Halo (except Halo has backtracking and no bosses). I still enjoy both games a lot. I don't play these types of games for the story. When I want a deep story, I'll play RPGs.

Perhaps it has to do with age. When I play NG2, it reminds be of all those old NES/SNES/GEN side-scrolling action games I used to play when I was a little kid. The games that were way more difficult than they should've been, but gave you a great feeling of satisfaction when you finally beat them. Except NG2 has better graphics and one of the best combat systems around.

you know, honestly.... there aren't a whole lot of games, period, that you can say aren't repetitive. If you think about it....

Also, I wouldn't rag on old arcade games. Not only do we owe games like Frogger and PacMan for even having video games today, some of them are suprizingly deep.
