Man I dropped the ball. I spent important SC4 time playing Too Human and then traded Too Human without getting more achievements.... didn't play Bionic Commando half as much as I expected but what can I say, I wanna make it last a while. Now since I'm on tiger don't expect many points in anything.

Some of you guys are freaking beasts. Seriously. I'm impressed by the ability of some members to rack up the full pointage in harder games.

@All - seriously, if you own/like your 360 racers give the GRID demo a try if you haven't already. I think it's actually much better than Forza 2, PGR 4, GT5:P or Burnout.

You just named four racing games that are way across the spectrum of that genre. I'm a huge Burnout fan but I can't stand Forza and GT. Am I going to like Grid?

It's more arcadey than those games from what I've seen. I loooved Dirt which Codemasters also did (basically a rally version of GRID). I'll probably pick it up when I want another racing fix. I have to space out my racing games because they seem to get repetitive if I play too many.

Well done on 1st. And you have a great score on GRID, but not as popular as I would have hoped, and I have to leave some space for the barrage of games coming! :)

@Ail

I think Dead Rising has an Achievement like that where you have to survive for a long long time.

 Blimey, if it wasn't for castle crashers been released my score for this week would have been abysmal lol, i've just looked on this latest page so i have not seen ail's post, but with regards to the dead rising question, the 7 day survivor achievement takes around 16 hours of non stop play, You can not even save your game so if you screw up say 14 hours in to it then that would be pretty damn cruel lol, And to make things tougher, because your energy slowly depletes over time you can not leave your 360 alone for too long due to needing to feed frank every say 14 minutes, just make sure your mentally prepared if your going for 7 day survivor........  and if your doing good health wise dont go fighting the zombies out of boredom, i almost messed up around 13 hours in and had to go scavenging for food agian to keep me alive for the last 3 hours

It's tough to say whether anyone will like a game, but the demo has two different tracks and covers two different disciplines iirc, so it should give you a good idea of what to expect. If you like the demo you'll love the game.

Like jason said, it's more on the arcade side of things than the simulation side of things, but it still sits in the middle - it's not pure arcade (I don't actually like arcade racers like PGR or SEGA rally, I prefer the blend you get from something like Burnout or the old TOCA games).  I would say from arcade to sim the games I listed are like this:

SEGA rally, PGR, Motorstorm, Burnout, Forza, Gran Turismo

With GRID in between Motorstorm and Burnout.  So if that's also how you would order those games from arcade to sim then that's probably where GRID would fit into place for you as well.

In terms of my own preference, I rank them like this:

GRID>Motorstorm>Burnout>Gran Turismo>Forza>SEGA rally>PGR.

I'll give it a try then. Can't hurt to play a demo. Or could it? (Cue intense music)

@erikers

Im surprised you havent noticed till now since your feedback was the major influence in the points changes. Oh well.

It happened nearly 5-6 weeks back when you mentioned that it was too easy to rent games and get easy points every week. Other members also expressed that they could never ever get their name on the board.

With the new points system and changes, more emphasis are on difficult races and more people can go up on the league leaderboard.

Update: Note also that all points since the start of the league have been recalculated under this points systems i.e. I have looked at all the previous weeks and made sure everyone got the same points under this system because it was medals before.

Well considering I'm 4th with 28 points which isn't much from what I had before the new points started, there's been hardly any retail game races for the last 5 weeks. It's almost been all arcade games, that's why I didn't notice until I saw some actual retail games listed. I look at them each week so I wouldn't miss them if they were there before.

Cool. Well its all primed for October-November when a bunch of ten-pointers are up for grabs. Its a shame Project Origin is delayed and its looking all the more probable that RB2 and GHWT would not be simultaneous releases.

It's good they aren't simultaneous, it relieves some of the anxiety of deciding which one to buy first. Who wants 2 games with 80+ songs at once? One month is enough for me to destroy all the single player modes on Rock Band 2 then I get Guitar Hero World Tour and dominate single player on that.

These single player modes seem to have 70+ songs in them now instead of the usual 40-45 they've had before. It's going to take forever to do all 4 instruments now.

@erikers

I meant by region. If it doesnt come out in NA / EU together then no Race.
