I'm also gonna give a shoutout to Gears of War Judgement; I found it to be a worthy entry to the series that retains the crunchy combat and gorgeous visuals of Gears 1-3 while doing its own thing by focusing on smaller, more focused action.

Frostpunk - a game where most choices are between flavors of bad, while you're trying to keep your people alive in freezing cold - one of the few games that really made me quite uneasy.
Honorable mentions go to Superhot, Witcher 2, Dying Light, Gorky 17, Two Worlds 2, Call of Juarez and Hellish Quart.
