Forums - Nintendo - Koji Kondo copied himself

I finally got it working (thanks btw for a good site for game-music), but I don't think they are that similar.

My former account was HeSSeH, but I lost it.

Around the Network

@Alasted. Wow, you really know your shit. o.O

Anyway I have no problem with vague plagarism in music, it generally makes it better and nobody can be completely original constantly.

*Goes off to listen to hush now that I've been reminded about it*

I follow all of Kondo's compositions but I don't know that any music from "Good Egg Galaxy" sounds similar to "Hyrule Field Main Theme" from Ocarina of Time. I'll listen to the songs once I get home.

I wouldn't be surprised, 'cause Kondo does what you describe all the time. For example:

- listen to "Castle & Fortress" from Yoshi's Island and compare it to "Windmill Hut" from Ocarina of Time... exact same rhythm!

- the Super Mario Bros. 3 warp whistle motif in Ocarina of Time's "Title Theme"

- "Goal & Score" from Yoshi's Island and "Music Box House" from Majora's Mask

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but there are lots more...
