Some stupid bastard leaked a picture of Crysis: Wii edition on gamereports. And now there's a rumor about a Wii edition of the game! Which would, of course, be great! Considering it has a lot of hype surrounding it...!

I think "Not likely" would be a gross understatement.

Now that is an outlandish rumor. I would sooner believe the "NMS embargo leak" than that.

Once again, based on the very limited information that we have I would say that it is possible ...

EA is becomming quite a strong supporter for the Wii and have devoted quite a few new teams to developing games for it. Certainly, it would not be a direct port but that doesn't mean that you couldn't build (essentailly) the same game by using a different engine, taking existing game assets and modifying them to work on the Wii version, and "re-building" the game from scratch.

looks a bit..photoshopish..dunno =( either way, i never trust info that comes from a dutch info directly, no, i don't hate my own country, but how the hell would they get this information faster than any guy from US. it just doesn't sound reliable really :D

Happy, I don't think you realize how powerful this game is. I'm not entirely sure the PS3 would be able to handle it, let alone the Wii (Crytek has said they don't think the game could be optimized on the PS3). It would have to be a very, very very dumbed down version of the game.

Crysis requires a quad core, which the PS3 does not have. It requires DirectX10 or above, which the PS3 does not have. Given the Cell's multi-threaded design, I feel like you could figure out a way to make it work -- but it's not clear, to me, as a layman. This is the first game that's technologically beyond what the current-gen platforms can do. That's pretty normal: it takes about 6-12 months to start seeing such stuff.

There's a lot of that going around, even when evidence points to the contrary. Keep posting news, no matter what people say. You see over at Destructoid this guy is getting beaten about the neck for posting that MGS4 is coming to the 360. Even got a cease and desist from someone's legal department.....

My thinking was along these lines:

These games may not be identical to their Gamecube counterparts, but they are remarkably similar considering they're on a system with far less processing power.

Yeah, happy, I'm willing to believe that some form of Crysis could possibly be made on the system, just expect it to be a very different version. Not a tweaking or a slight downgrade, but basically a whole new game (of the pictures you have there, the ones I recognize are completely new games, not just remakes). That's certainly possible.
