Sorry for your loss.
My father passed away last year as well.
Though in his case, he had Myasthenia Gravis and Parkinson's - so his death was a slow but painful for him. Got bedridden in 2019 and passed away in 2024 - so 5 years of suffering....it was soul crushing watching him just go away like that slowly, losing the ability to get up, to talk, to move, etc.
He passed away 3 weeks before my daughter was born so it was much more tragic since I wasnt able to introduce the two to each other.
Time heals, wounds wont go away but it'll get better hopefully.
