Forums - Gaming - Who's your favorite Developer?

Hands down it's got to be Data Design Interactive as they are the best third party developer on the Wii and they release their games so numerously I keep wondering how they were able to pull it off.

I'm surprised no one else picked up on the humor in your post. Good dig indeed.

I have a three way tie going right now between Intelligent Systems(Paper Mario/WarioWare/Fire Emblem), Treasure(Bleach DS, Ikaruga, Gunstar Heroes) and Sega AM2(Virtua Fighter, Shenmue, After Burner).

Epic, Treasure, Capcom(the resident evil team)... Bungie is one great non halo game away from being on that list.

But is I could go back in time... Sega of Japan from 1991 to 2001 owns all.

Wow, the greatest developer of all time has only been mentioned once.... wow....

Blizzard!

Every game they have ever made was a huge hit, and they defined two major game genres. RTS with Warcraft, and Action RPG with Diablo.

every game they release is the benchmark that all other games are compared too. Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, and World of Warcraft.

They have never failed.

BioWare, for practically never releasing a bad game. Even their mediocre ones (Jade Empire) are only mediocre by their own standards.

Atlus, for taking a terrible genre (JRPGs) and making it actually challenging, original, and fun.

Insomniac, for turning everything they touch into pure awesome. (Okay, except maybe Resistance.)

Team Suda51, for creating artistic and original games which, while usually not perfect, are so different from anything else out there that I can't not enjoy them.

Silicon Knights, for... well, ditto.

And a shoutout to my favorite defunct studios (R.I.P.): Black Isle, Oddworld Inhabitants, Clover Studios.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Square and Enix. When they still were Square and Enix and some employees joined forces to bring us Chrono Trigger.

Correctamundo, weren't they working with Ion Storm (also brilliant) a few times as well?
