I love how posters are more interested in directing their questions at everyone but Sony/Jim Ryan. So instead of asking us "why would he lie?", you could have asked Sony/Jim "why didn't you say this before?" Or "why did you purposely underreport PS2?"ÂÂ

Maybe it wasn't important or was never bought up? I think Jim was asked recently what was the best thing Playstation accomplished he said PS2 selling 160m. Sony months later confirmed it on their 30th anniversary. It would be embarrassing for both Jim and Sony if people find out they were lying. Even before they officially said it sold 160m I've seen numbers ranging from 158-162m for years. Now that they confirmed it people are getting upset for some reason.Â

Dude try harder, you are literally trying to push the idea that Sony purposely underreported it at 155.1 million. Why report it at 155 million then and now all of a sudden report the correct figures? Also stop projecting your feelings, console warriors love telling other people what their feelings are. The reason for why people like you do this, is because your arguments are that weak and you are doing whatever it takes to defend your favorite company. You are taking all accountability off of Sony because you deep down know something is weird. Your favorite company are the ones with the hurt feelings because PS2 is about to lose that title. So I'll ask another question, if it wasn't important before why is it important now? 30th anniversary? The 500 million milestone was clearly a big deal to them in 2018, did they include the PS2s 155 or 160 million in that achievement? How was that not the perfect time to introduce the 160 million when that figure has to be included in your 500 million achievement? Im not saying they are lying but with them only adjusting the 160 and not the March 2012 date, things are looking fishy.
