Forums - Movies & TV - Physical Media Collectors |OT| (TV shows, movies)

For people who still buy their movies and TV shows on disc, be it DVD, blu-ray or 4k, or anything in between.

If people want to share their other physical media collections (CD, games, Vinyl, etc.) I would say go for it. Unless there becomes a need/desire for a separate thread.

But I thought it'd be fun to have a dedicated for people who still buy physical copies of things. Share your library or share what you're buying or what you're looking forward to.

If a recent thread like this exists, I apologize.

I personally started buying more media like two years ago, when I set up my Plex server.

This is an old picture of my collection.

I traded in lesser PS4 games, PS5 games added, as well as 4K blu-rays. It's spilling over into the living room now. Most of the Nintendo games are there in cabinets and stacked next to the TV. Time for another shelf!

Latest purchase was Atrobot btw. And I also upgraded TloU to both remastered editions when I was at the game store.

Recently got Dexter's Laboratory, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Family Guy Part 3.

Have Robot Dreams coming soon. Supposed to be a good one.

Recently got The Martian, Mean Girls, Ghostbusters. Gladiator, Braveheart, Interstellar, Indiana Jones on 4K.

Superman The Animated Series, Powerpuff Girls, SPY x FAMILY, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Rugrats.

So went overboard on the Amazon Prime deals.

Those movies are awesome! I remember I got a 4k two-pack with both of them since I guess they came from the same studio.

Superman is also really great! One of my favorites from the 90's animated shows.

I recently got the 4k of Chernobyl which I think is one of the best horror shows ever made. I'm kinda excited too since it's my first show in the 4k format!

I've been wanting to watch through Batman The Animated Series and Superman the Animated Series.

I have a few David Attenborough 4K series like Planet Earth 2 and 3.

And I have Chernobyl on 4K, but I haven't had a good opportunity to watch it.

I have the first ten seasons of The SImpsons (the good years) on DVD and still watch them all the way through every few years. I enjoy owning my media physically because I like to be in control of it. Short of the TV and player breaking, or the power being out for awhile, there is never anything getting in my way. No one de-listing it. No one telling me that it will be leaving soon. No one looking through a 2024 lens and deciding to censor things that were considered acceptable decades and decades ago when it originally came out. It's just a much more enjoyable experience having it physically, on a shelf, ready to watch when I'm ready to watch it.

I'll probably start picking up more of these myself. Only have Seasons 1-4, but I'd like to get at least 1-10.
