I'm a little surprised their shipments weren't a tad higher for the quarter. BKK2 and I both had the March 2009 LTD at 30.8m, but they came in at 30.2m

360 is basically at final Genesis numbers now though, and will top N64 figures pretty soon.

So MS EAD made a $31 mill loss. There's the reason why third party exclusives are becoming rarer. It also means two things:

- If Sony drops the PS3 price, MS will not/cannot follow

- MS cannot drop the Live Gold fees

Seems the overshipped previous quarter (6m).

I am surprised to see they posting a loss. it maybe small still.

Might want to wait until Sony gives out it's figures (have to wait almost another month) before claiming that, as Sony is certainly losing more on PS3 still than MS is from X360.... and the possibility is that they are losing more from the SCE division (soon to be integrated into other divisions) as MS is losing from EDD.

The loss might be due to the poor sales of the ZUNE mp3 devices.

With an attach rate of 8.3 we can calculate total software shipments at around 250m.

Does the money used to build their new building come from the Entertainment Division?

Yeah for 360 in the years ending March 2006, March 2007, March 2008, March 2009 I had software shipments estimated at:

11.5m, 25m, 90m, 125m

 Its not abt small or large loss. point is that they were posting profit for last so many quarters. So suddenly going into loss is definitely hurting. and also i don't think zune have anything worthwhile in this division. although i may completely be wrong.

But in my view they have lost 31 + 106 million. instead of simple 31 million loss, cuz they are going down from +106 to -31.

Seeing these result i believe Sony can be much worse.
