I don't see the point in this thread, the Election Thread already specifically targets Harris vs Trump and like someone else said, nobody gives a fuck about Brain Worms JR, Chase Oliver, Cornel West, Randall Allen and Moscow Stein...They're all spoiler candidates who become even more irrelevant than they already are come election day.

I noticed that the 2024 US Presidential Election thread was covering some of the same material as the US Politics thread and that no one was discussing policies. I was starting to have a conversation about personalities but they wouldn’t continue because they thought that belonged on a different/new thread.

Also have you even taken a look at their platforms? Even if you won’t be voting for them. No need to be so hostile.

I feel like this can be specifically to talk about policies, platforms and personalities of the candidates, since it feels like that isn't being talked about on US Politics [OT] or on the 2024 US Presidential Election thread. It seems that both those threads are actually just the same thread.

@Renamed wanted to discuss about Trump and Kamala, but he thought it didn't need to be said there which is understandable since the conversations on US Politics dont seem to be going that way. This is what he said

So I made this so we can specifically discuss these two points. Platform/policy and personalities of the candidates. Since the other two threads are so wide spread out and seem like the exact same thread saying the exact same thing, one just has more posts from Ryuu96, than the other.

There is validity for this thread.  The US Politics thread is more focused on day to day happenings, news, outside opinions and events (keep it going, it's a a damn good daily read).  The 2024 US Presidential thread is more random, quick bits, less focus.  This thread is more directly about policy.  It's more detail oriented and will lend to lengthy posts that would get lost, or go unread, in the other election thread.

You sure? The thread has been open for a few days now and there has literally been zero posts talking about platforms and policies.

I think it's a common problem with political threads that they jump around. You start off with talking about Kamala's economic policies, and you move on to how Bush's economic policies were bad, and then Reagan's, and then you start talking about other issues with Reagan, and now you're 10 pages past talking about Kamala's economic policies. 

I don't think the Attempted Assassination on Trump thread has talked about anything with regards to the Attempted Assassination in like 15 pages; aside from a few random posts probably.  

It's kind of hard to keep conversation open enough to talk about related issues, but closed enough to stay on topic.
