PS5 Sells 1M, Sales Drop YoY For All Consoles - Worldwide Hardware Estimates for June 2024

The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console worldwide with 1,004,215 units sold for June 2024, according to VGChartz estimates. The PlayStation 5 has now sold an estimated 59.30 million units lifetime worldwide.

The Nintendo Switch sold an estimated 755,073 units to bring its lifetime sales to 140.41 million units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 320,002 units to bring their lifetime sales to 29.06 million units. The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 3,596 units to bring its lifetime sales to 117.18 million units.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2017 are down by nearly 497,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are down by over 124,000 units. PS4 sold 1,501,027 units for the month of June 2017 and Xbox One sales were at 444,321 units.

PlayStation 5 sales compared to the same month a year ago are down by 432,774 (-30.1%). Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 230,792 units (-41.9%) and Nintendo Switch sales are down by 672,761 units (-47.1%). The PlayStation 4 is down by 25,134 units (-87.5%) year-over-year.

Looking at sales month-on-month, PlayStation 5 sales are up by nearly 220,000 units, Xbox Series X|S sales are up by over 96,000 units, and Nintendo Switch sales are up by nearly 110,000 units.

2024 year-to-date, the PlayStation 5 has sold an estimated 6.59 million units, the Nintendo Switch has sold 4.67 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 1.84 million units.

PS5 Best-Seller, Sales Drop YoY For All Consoles - Americas Hardware Estimates for June 2024

The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console in the Americas (USA, Canada, & Latin America) with 365,401 units sold for June 2024, according to VGChartz estimates. The PlayStation 5 has now sold an estimated 24.54 million units lifetime in the Americas.

The Nintendo Switch was the second best-selling console with an estimated 229,740 units sold to bring lifetime sales to 53.71 million units. The Xbox Series X|S came in third place with 208,954 units sold to bring its lifetime sales to 17.62 million units. The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 1,098 units to bring its lifetime sales to 41.54 million units.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2017 are down by nearly 121,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are down by over 22,000 units. PS4 sold 486,105 units for the month of June 2017 and Xbox One sales were at 231,228 units.

PlayStation 5 sales compared to the same month a year ago are down by 155,892 (-29.9%). Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 83,036 units (-28.4%) and Nintendo Switch sales are down by 194,462 units (-45.8%). The PlayStation 4 is down by 7,895 units (-87.8%) year-over-year.

Looking at sales month-on-month, PlayStation 5 sales are up by over 82,000 units, Xbox Series X|S sales are up by over 67,000 units, and Nintendo Switch sales are up by over 75,000 units.

2024 year-to-date, the PlayStation 5 has sold an estimated 2.49 million units, the Nintendo Switch has sold 1.38 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 1.29 million units.

PS5 Best-Seller, XS and NS Drop Over 50% YoY - Europe Hardware Estimates for June 2024

The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console in Europe with 360,378 units sold for June 2024, according to VGChartz estimates. The PlayStation 5 has now sold an estimated 19.74 million units lifetime in Europe.

The Nintendo Switch sold an estimated 149,298 units to bring its lifetime sales to 36.27 million units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 85,689 units to bring their lifetime sales to 7.78 million units. The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 1,038 units to bring its lifetime sales to 45.85 million units.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2017 are down by over 193,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are down by over 52,000 units. PS4 sold 553,549 units for the month of June 2017 and Xbox One sales were at 137,716 units.

PlayStation 5 sales compared to the same month a year ago are down by 41,999 (-10.4%). Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 93,520 units (-52.2%) and Nintendo Switch sales are down by 180,367 units (-54.7%). The PlayStation 4 is down by 4,224 units (-80.3%) year-over-year.

Looking at sales month-on-month, PlayStation 5 sales are up by over 55,000 units, Xbox Series X|S sales are up by nearly 19,000 units, and Nintendo Switch sales are down by over 19,000 units.

2024 year-to-date, the PlayStation 5 has sold an estimated 2.27 million units, the Nintendo Switch has sold 1.07 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 0.43 million units.

Switch Best-Seller as Sales Drop by Over 50% YoY - Japan Hardware Estimates for June 2024

The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console in Japan with 229,121 units sold for June 2024, according to VGChartz estimates. The Nintendo Switch has now sold an estimated 33.28 million units lifetime in Japan.

The PlayStation 5 sold an estimated 124,818 units to bring its lifetime sales to 5.79 million units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 8,143 units to bring their lifetime sales to 0.61 million units. The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 1,181 units to bring its lifetime sales to 9.68 million units.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2017 are up over 5,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are up by over 7,000 units. PS4 sold 119,612 units for the month of June 2017 and Xbox One sales were at 1,118 units.

Nintendo Switch sales compared to the same month a year ago are down by 257,314 units (-52.9%). PlayStation 5 sales are down by 140,043 (-52.9%) and Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 24,018 units (-74.7%). The PlayStation 4 is down by 8,622 units (-88.0%) year-over-year.

Looking at sales month-on-month, Nintendo Switch sales are up by over 44,000 units, the PlayStation 5 sales are up by nearly 40,000 units, and Xbox Series X|S sales are down by nearly 4,000 units.

2024 year-to-date, the Nintendo Switch has sold an estimated 1.44 million units, the PlayStation 5 has sold 0.82 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 0.06 million units.

The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console worldwide with 1,004,215 units sold for June 2024, according to VGChartz estimates. The PlayStation 5 has now sold an estimated 59.30 million units lifetime worldwide.

The Nintendo Switch sold an estimated 755,073 units to bring its lifetime sales to 140.41 million units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 320,002 units to bring their lifetime sales to 29.06 million units. The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 3,596 units to bring its lifetime sales to 117.18 million units.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2017 are down by nearly 497,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are down by over 124,000 units. PS4 sold 1,501,027 units for the month of June 2017 and Xbox One sales were at 444,321 units.

PlayStation 5 sales compared to the same month a year ago are down by 432,774 (-30.1%). Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 230,792 units (-41.9%) and Nintendo Switch sales are down by 672,761 units (-47.1%). The PlayStation 4 is down by 25,134 units (-87.5%) year-over-year.

Looking at sales month-on-month, PlayStation 5 sales are up by nearly 220,000 units, Xbox Series X|S sales are up by over 96,000 units, and Nintendo Switch sales are up by nearly 110,000 units.

2024 year-to-date, the PlayStation 5 has sold an estimated 6.59 million units, the Nintendo Switch has sold 4.67 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 1.84 million units.
