Forums - Nintendo - Quantum3 engine to boost Nintendo Wii’s sub-standard graphics

The Wii, like the PSP, has been underused. Both have a lot more power than people think, but both were held back by developers just seeing them as extensions of the PS2.

Yes, I'm including the PSP. With the CPU cap off, the system now has the power and the speed of the PS2, combined with the memory efficiency of the GC (can't count the extra RAM on the slim, since that's for loading).

i'm sorry but this is incorrect, the psp hasn't have as much power as the Ps2, I don't want to explain it again but if youunderstand computer hardware you also should understand this.

Around the Network

Am I the only one who think The Conduit dosen't look all that great compared to other Wii games. Metroid Prime 3 and Galaxy mostly.

No no you're not the only one the thinks that, I also think the same thing.

You're kidding right? SMG and MP3 look better than The Conduit. Why would Nintendo need an outsourced engine when what they have inhouse is better? They know the technology better than anyone and as with their past console, they will continue to put out some of the best looking games on the platform.

OK, maybe a bad example.  My point it that SMG could have looked better.  Nights and the new Sonic Unleased compare to it in some places.  I would be shocked if SMG was actually pushing the limits of the Wii.

Well you have to, or at least link to it. And games don't count as proof, unless they were made after the cap was taken off.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
