Forums - Nintendo - Quantum3 engine to boost Nintendo Wii’s sub-standard graphics

Maybe they should let Nintendo use the engine? Maybe Retro should use it for KI?

...you say that like they don't have their own engines pushing the hardware.

I'm in favor of anyone who puts some real effort into Wii development. Even if there previous games have sucked.

The Wii, like the PSP, has been underused. Both have a lot more power than people think, but both were held back by developers just seeing them as extensions of the PS2.

Yes, I'm including the PSP. With the CPU cap off, the system now has the power and the speed of the PS2, combined with the memory efficiency of the GC (can't count the extra RAM on the slim, since that's for loading).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I wanna see more of Factor 5's new Wii Engine, I personally trust their skills more, I still think Rogue Squadron was one of the prettiest games I've ever seen. Either way, this is a good step in the direction of more core appeal for Nintendo and the shallow gamers of the world.

My Games of 2011:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Super Mario 3D Land

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Yes, I agree.  MP3 and SMG were good but the graphics didn't really push the Wii.  It be cool if the next Mario on Wii had a jump in graphics.  I certainly don't expect better sound.

 That would be even better.

High Voltage had 10 publishers expressing interest in Conduit after the IGN Wii exclusive.  Publisher soon come!

You're kidding right? SMG and MP3 look better than The Conduit. Why would Nintendo need an outsourced engine when what they have inhouse is better? They know the technology better than anyone and as with their past console, they will continue to put out some of the best looking games on the platform.
