Forums - Politics Discussion - Israel-Hamas war, Gaza genocide

Second day there's hardly any news out of Gaza, at least not picked up from Twitter.

I fear the worst for Northern Gaza, Netanyahu finally got his wish, coverage of the genocide extinguished. Hopefully coverage resumes soon, who knows what Israel is carrying out in Gaza while all eyes are on Syria.

Jerusalem post has some updates:

IDF announces four soldiers killed in southern Lebanon

Four soldiers were killed in combat in southern Lebanon, the IDF announced on Monday, as Israel kept lines tight on the Syrian border to be prepared for anything that might affect the stability there.

The military named the fallen as Maj. (res.) Evgeny Zinershain, 43, from Zichron Ya’acov; Capt. (res.) Sagi Ya’akov Rubinshtein, 31, from Lavi; St.-Sgt.-Maj. (res.) Binyamin Destaw Negose, 28, from Bet Shemesh; and Sgt.-Maj. (res.) Erez Ben Efraim, 25, from Ramat Gan.

Initial investigations indicate that the four went into an underground spot in the area where they were operating, to clear it out of any weapons. They were struck by an IDF trap that had been placed there. According to N12, the army has opened an investigation into the incident and will inquire as to why they entered in the first place and whether they knew about the trap.

Tragedy in Gaza: Three Givati Brigade soldiers killed by anti-tank fire in northern Gaza

Three soldiers were killed in northern Gaza on Monday, the IDF announced: St.-Sgt. Ido Zano, St.-Sgt. Barak Daniel Halpern, and Sgt. Omri Cohen.

Zano, 20, was from Yehud-Monosson; Halpern, 19, from Kiryat Ono; and Cohen, 19, was from Ashdod. They all served in the Shaked Battalion of the Givati Brigade. All three were killed by anti-tank fire while entering an armored IDF transport.

Additionally, 12 soldiers were wounded in the same incident, including two seriously.

By press time, this raised the IDF’s tally of soldiers killed since the start of the war last year to 816, of whom 384 were killed since the start of the military’s ground operations in the enclave on October 27.

Seems resistance fighters are still pretty active in Northern Gaza

Earlier, the Yavne municipality said that an explosion was heard in a residential building in the city, as the IDF said it had received reports regarding a suspicious aerial target crashing in the area.

So far, HTS are saying and doing all the right things.

Israel is of course using this opportunity to steal more land.

The scenes coming out of Saydnaya Prison are horrific...Truly some Nazi stuff.

Here is the state of affairs on day one of the HTS-led government in Damascus:

  • Central Bank operating; commercial banks reopen Thursday.
  • Mohammed al-Bashir appointed to form a temporary government.
  • Jolani met Bashir and Assad’s PM to arrange power transfer.
  • Aleppo airport to resume domestic flights soon.
  • State employees told to return to work.
  • Gov’t officials say Women free to wear what they wish.
  • Harm to journalists punishable by prison.
  • General amnesty to all Syrian military conscripts

HTS leadership have prohibited anyone to interfere with women clothing, stating that women can wear whatever they want to. I really, really hope, that they not only stick to their words because they're said everything right so far, but also that they manage to keep stability. The only ones threatening stability right now are Türkiye/SNA and Israel.

• “At this sensitive time when the possibility of achieving peace and stability, which the Syrian people have longed for for many years, has emerged, Israel is once again displaying its occupation mentality.”

CAN ISRAEL FUCK OFF!!!

The situation is so fucking delicate right now, it will require careful and stable hands, the West should offer assistance in the one decent chance that Syrians have at stability and some better form of peace as the HTS are saying and doing all the right things so far, I don't care about the past if they're going to enforce actually good policies now for all Syrian people, so why not give it a shot instead of assuming everything will always suck and things can never improve?

But ISRAEL is going to end up fucking this up for everyone, Türkiye as well, Israel sees a bit of land it can easily steal and they're right in there and everyone is too afraid to tell them to knock it the fuck off. Israel using the "we need to steal land for our peoples safety" is the exact same fucking excuse that Russia uses to justify stealing Ukrainian land!

They've decided the Golan Heights is theirs despite only America recognising that fact and they only did so under Donald Trump, they've decided to steal more land than just the Golan Heights. I wouldn't be surprised if they go for Damascus at this rate. They could work with HTS but instead decide to bomb the shit out of Southern Syria, Syrian Ports and steal land.
