Israeli military raids, settler attacks in the occupied West Bank

Israeli forces have raided Palestinian homes and assaulted several residents in the town of Sinjil, northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, Wafa news agency is reporting.

Citing local sources, it said Israeli forces stormed the town, raided a number of homes, assaulted residents, broke down doors and vandalised property while a drone flew overhead and stun grenades and flares were fired.

Wafa also reported that Israeli authorities, using bulldozers, have begun demolishing a building and shops at the entrance to the village of Anza, south of Jenin.

Settlers, under the protection of the Israeli military, also attacked the home of a Palestinian prisoner in Masafer Bani Na’im, east of Hebron, killing one sheep, stealing 30 and slashing the tyres of his vehicle.

Israeli settlers ambush Palestinians in West Bank village

Israeli settlers stormed the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, Wafa news agency reports.

The village’s chief, Marzouq Abu Naim, told the agency that settlers attacked the southern area and grazed their livestock on Palestinian-owned land. He added that Israeli soldiers were deployed in several neighbourhoods and fired tear gas canisters heavily at residents’ homes.

Israeli soldiers fired hundreds of bullets at Gaza aid workers: Report

https://www.aljazeera.com/features/2026/2/24/israeli-forces-fired-over-900-bullets-to-kill-gaza-medics-in-2025-report

Israeli soldiers fired more than 900 bullets at a convoy of clearly marked Palestinian emergency vehicles in Gaza before advancing to kill the surviving aid workers, some of whom were shot “execution-style” at close range, last March, a new joint investigation has revealed.

The report released on Monday by the independent research agency Forensic Architecture and audio investigation group Earshot offers the most detailed reconstruction to date of the massacre in Tal as-Sultan, a neighbourhood west of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, on March 23, 2025.

Fifteen aid workers were killed in the attack, including paramedics from the Palestine Red Crescent Society, firefighters from the Palestinian Civil Defence and an UNRWA staff member. The slain aid workers were then buried along with their vehicles.

Israel responsible for majority of journalists’ killings in 2025: CPJ

Israel was responsible for the killing of two-thirds of a record 129 journalists and media workers killed worldwide last year, the Committee to Protect Journalists has said.

The CPJ noted an increase in the use of drones to kill journalists last year. Of the 39 journalists killed by drones, the Israeli army killed 28 in Gaza.

It said the rising number of journalist deaths “is fueled by a persistent culture of impunity”, with very few transparent investigations conducted into the 47 cases of targeted killings of journalists in 2025.

Israeli forces arrest 3 Palestinians; settlers attack town south of Hebron

The Israeli army has arrested three Palestinians south of Hebron after Israeli settlers attacked a village in the same area, the Wafa news agency reports.

Residents told Wafa that two men were arrested while herding sheep in Khirbet al-Kharaba and a third person was arrested in the Wadi al-Rakheem area of Masafer Yatta after he was chased by settlers trying to assault him.

The arrests came after dozens of armed settlers, protected by Israeli forces, raided the village of Raboud and performed prayers at one of the village’s archaeological sites.

Calls for justice grow after Israeli settlers kill another US citizen

After Israeli settlers killed 19-year-old United States citizen Nasrallah Abu Siyam in the occupied West Bank last week, the US Department orf State said it “has no higher priority than the safety and security of Americans”.

But, as the number of US citizens killed by Israel continues to mount, rights advocates say Washington’s failure to ensure accountability is driving a deadly cycle of impunity.

Abu Siyam, who was shot dead in the village of Mikhmas near Jerusalem, is among at least 11 US citizens killed by Israeli settlers or soldiers since 2022.

“It’s a joke. I don’t take these people seriously,” William Asfour, Chicago chapter coordinator for American Muslims for Palestine, said of the US government’s response to the latest killing.

More than 18,500 patients awaiting medical evacuation from Gaza: UN

Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, says that figure includes at least 4,000 Palestinian children who “urgently” need medical care outside the bombarded enclave.

Dujarric told reporters during a briefing in New York that the World Health Organization (WHO) has facilitated the evacuation of more than 740 Palestinians from October 10 when the “ceasefire” came into effect to Monday of this week.

Those patients, including 432 children, were allowed out of Gaza via the Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing and the Rafah crossing with Egypt, both in the south, Dujarric said.

“To reduce reliance on evacuation, the WHO continues to call for the rehabilitation and building of Gaza’s health system, including allowing more medical supplies in, restoring damaged facilities and expanding essential services,” he said.

Israel to appoint ambassador to Somaliland ‘soon’

Israel’s foreign ministry has announced it will “soon” appoint an ambassador to Somaliland, following the establishment of diplomatic relations with the region that seceded from Somalia during a civil war.

In a post on X, the ministry described the move as “an additional step in strengthening relations between the two countries.”

Israel became the only country in the world to recognise Somaliland’s independence in December, something the territory has been seeking since declaring its autonomy from Somalia in 1991.

Somalia’s Defence Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi accused Israel of planning to forcibly displace Palestinians to the breakaway region, denouncing the alleged plan as a “serious violation” of international law.

UK granted permission to appeal ruling that Palestine Action ban was unlawful

The British government has been given permission to appeal against a ruling that its ban on the pro-Palestinian campaign group Palestine Action as a “terrorist” organisation was unlawful.

London’s High Court granted Britain’s Home Office permission to challenge its ruling, saying ‌the ban would remain in place pending ‌the ‌appeal. The court had ruled this month that the ban was unlawful.

Palestine ‌Action was proscribed in July after targeting Israel-linked defence companies in Britain, often blocking entrances or spraying red paint.

‘Anti-Palestinian repression’: Legal experts document hundreds of UK cases

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/2/25/anti-palestinian-repression-legal-experts-document-hundreds-of-uk-cases

Legal experts have documented almost 1,000 incidents in which pro-Palestine voices have been allegedly targeted in the United Kingdom, data that they say represents a “systematic effort” to repress the country’s solidarity movement.

The European Legal Support Center (ELSC) has verified 964 cases of “anti-Palestinian repression” from January 2019 until August 2025, including students being investigated over their solidarity, activists being arrested, employees facing disciplinary procedures and artists having their events cancelled.

The findings of the study, carried out in collaboration with researchers at Forensic Architecture, are a “sample indicative of a far wider and deeper pattern”, said the group comprising lawyers and legal officers.

The ELSC pitched the report as an Index of Repression, a database that is open to the public.

“We’re launching this database to show that repression of the Palestine solidarity movement in Britain is pervasive,” Amira Abdelhamid, ELSC’s director of research and monitoring, told Al Jazeera.

ELSC said “Zionist advocacy” groups, journalists and media outlets were involved in 138 incidents – including UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI), a pro-Israel organisation that it said played a part in 29 of the documented cases.

“The goal of this analysis is to denaturalise this politically produced process,” the group said. “This strategic targeting across sectors represents a kind of division of repressive labour. It aims to dismantle solidarity at every stage, from the formation of political consciousness in universities and schools, to its expression in culture, to its organisation in public spaces.”

“The main immediate goal of this anti-Palestinian repression is to depoliticise the movement, to make it seem as though it’s not a legitimate political and ethical struggle, but rather a security problem, a problem of so-called anti-Semitism or a breach of compliance,” ELSC’s Abdelhamid said.“I don’t think that has succeeded … two years on we still see people resisting the repression happening in Britain [and] speaking up and acting for Palestine and against the genocide.”

According to YouGov, one in three Britons have “no sympathy at all for the Israeli side in the conflict” after Israel killed more than 70,000 people in two years and decimated the Gaza Strip.

The government, led by Labour leader Keir Starmer, has long been accused of cracking down on pro-Palestine solidarity because of a wave of arrests during demonstrations and due to its proscription of Palestine Action as a “terror” organisation – a ruling recently deemed unlawful by the High Court.

In January, Human Rights Watch said that its research found a “disproportionate targeting of certain groups, including climate change activists and Palestine protesters, undermining the right to protest freely and without fear of harassment”.

Modi says ‘nothing can justify terrorism’

“India stands with Israel firmly, with full conviction, in this moment and beyond,” the Indian prime minister says, drawing a standing ovation in the Knesset.

Condemning the “barbaric” October 7, 2023, attacks, Modi said: “No cause can justify the murder of civilians. Nothing can justify terrorism.”

He added that India “has also endured the pain of terrorism for a long time”.

“Like you, we have [a] consistent and uncompromising policy of zero tolerance for terrorism with no double standards. Terrorism aims to destabilise societies, to block development and to erode trust,” he said.

Modi’s concludes Knesset address

  • Modi said India and Israel are “trusted partners” whose relations are “vital” for trade and security.
  • He said the two countries successfully signed a number of agreements, including the Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) last year.
  • “We are committed to further consolidating this relationship across many sectors,” he said.
  • India’s prime minister praised the “synergy” between the two countries on topics including artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technology.
  • In ending his speech, Modi said, “Our partnership also contributes to global stability and prosperity. Let us ensure that our partnership remains a source of strength in an uncertain world.”

Last year, the two countries signed an investment agreement during a visit to India by far-right Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. At the time, Indian Minister of Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman said the agreement aimed to boost bilateral trade and investment flows, stressing the need for greater collaboration in “cybersecurity, defence, innovation and high-technology” in particular.

Israel-India trade stood at $3.9bn in 2024, but the bulk of that was in the domain of defence and security with New Delhi being Israel’s largest weapons buyer.

Modi says ‘humbled’ to receive ‘Medal of the Knesset’

The Indian prime minister is the first recipient of the so-called “Medal of the Knesset”, Israeli parliamentary Speaker Amir Ohana has announced.

“I accept it with humility and gratitude,” Modi wrote on social media.

“This honour is not a tribute to an individual, but to the enduring friendship between India and Israel.”

Israeli Fire Kills Two in Gaza as Aid Restrictions Threaten Food Supply

https://www.palestinechronicle.com/israeli-fire-kills-two-in-gaza-as-aid-restrictions-threaten-food-supply/

  • Two Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation fire in Gaza.
  • More than 18,000 patients are awaiting medical evacuation outside the Strip.
  • Gaza authorities warn Israeli restrictions could halt World Central Kitchen’s operations.
  • Aid truck entries have reportedly been reduced from 25 per day to five.
  • Officials describe worsening humanitarian conditions amid continued restrictions.

Two Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation forces in separate incidents across the Gaza Strip, according to Quds News Network.

Hani Abdel Karim Salem Abu Jriban, 41, was killed after Israeli forces bombed the Abu Al-Ajeen area east of Deir Al-Balah in central Gaza. In a separate incident, a young man was killed by Israeli occupation fire in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Several additional injuries were reported across different areas.

A quadcopter drone near Abu Hussein School in northern Gaza wounded a civilian. Additionally, a girl was injured by Israeli occupation forces in the Qizan Abu Rashwan area of Khan Yunis. Others were wounded by gunfire from Israeli naval boats west of Gaza City during overnight fire.

The incidents come amid continued violations of the ceasefire agreement that went into effect on October 10. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, since the ceasefire began, 618 Palestinians have been killed and 1,663 injured, while 732 bodies have been recovered during that period.

Aid Restrictions

The worsening health crisis is unfolding alongside new warnings regarding humanitarian food distribution.

According to the Anadolu news agency, Gaza’s Government Media Office warned that Israeli-imposed restrictions on aid entry are threatening the continuation of operations by the US-based nonprofit World Central Kitchen.

Officials stated that the number of aid trucks allowed to enter the Strip daily has reportedly dropped from 25 to just five, severely limiting the flow of supplies required for food preparation and distribution

World Central Kitchen has been providing approximately one million free meals per day to displaced and vulnerable Palestinians. Gaza authorities warned that without a sustained and predictable supply chain, the organization may be forced to suspend its operations.

The Government Media Office also pointed to restrictions on supply routes and procurement conditions as additional obstacles complicating food production.
