All I'm saying is that if I'm a non-biased gamer (which I am), and trying to decide which console is going to provide me the best tech for the money, it's certainly not going to be the Switch 2. Ever since Wii, Nintendo has released hardware that either can't run that gen's most advanced software, or runs it worse. So why would I bother with Nintendo? There most certainly won't be GTA 6 on that system. And if there is, it definitely won't be the definitive version. And that goes for anything else that is graphically intense.

If CDPR can run CP2077 on a 7 week effort, RS for sure can run GTA6 on S2 and make it pretty comparable to the other consoles.

Is it 7 weeks of effort or a 7-week-old build of the port? They could have started porting months ago, but the latest build shown is 7 weeks old. That makes more sense.

True. So why doesn't Ford consider Harley Davidson competition, and why does the entire industry consider them separate markets/products?

Yeah, it's the latter from what I understand.

Weird hill to die on, but at least you're dead.

The most humorous thing to me is the fact that when it comes to comparing sales (PS2/S1), the Switch is a home console and exactly the same product. But when it comes to comparing internals and specs, the S2 is a handheld, and a completely different product.

When a company says a laptop is the best-selling PC, does that discount it because it's not a desktop? The hardware is not in question. The fact is they are in the same market. So, the best-selling item in a market matters. Form factor is not relevant. A mobile phone is not in the same market as a Laptop. Switch is in the same market as PS5. The dock still sits in a home theater setup. It still plays games. Power is irrelevant.

Their takeaway of the the build currently being shown is that it's in the same ballpark as the PS4 version, so I don't think we should expect any miracles here...

There is no PS4 version of Phantom Liberty. They were suggesting that it looks like what a hypothetical PS4 version **could** look like, but given that the PS4 version doesn't exist and Phantom Liberty is more demanding than the base game, it isn't even clear that a PS4 version was even possible (without looking or performing even worse or by having a long development cycle.)

Absolutely. I also expect the price will drop to 399 around the end of 2027, which would be a good time to release new models. A switch 2 lite that's dockable for 349 and a switch 2 home for 299 could be huge.

The Switch 1 got a price cut in the UK/EU in after 4 years, but not in the USA. Over 8 years after launch it is still $299 RRP. If they didn't cut the Switch price after all that time I really don't see the Switch 2 getting a price cut of $50 just 2.5 years after launch. Especially with the way everything is now.

PS5 and Xbox both receiving price hikes after launch (outside the USA at least). I think expecting any consoles to get price cuts anytime soon is wishful thinking. I'd honestly give it a higher chance of increasing in price in 2027 than decreasing.

That's a poor comparison. The switch never droped in price due to unique circunstances. But right off the bat the switch 2 is at a weird price. It is on Nintendo's best interest to lower it to 399 as soon as possible. It's also likely sold at some profit while they were breaking even with the switch. Makes it quicker to lower the price.

PS5 and Switch are video game consoles that can be played at home on your TV.

And a motorcycle and a car both have wheels and can drive on the road.

Both are home consoles but one doubles down as a portable, making it like an amphibian car vs a regular car. But using just your sad comparison, the ps5 is the motorcycle.

My favorite part about all this is how you have to be flatout dishonest to push your nonsense agenda. Show me the post that called Switch the highest selling home video game console? It's aiming to become the highest selling video game console or in other words the "home" part isn't included. Whether it's home, handheld, or hybrid, they are all video game consoles and Switch is aiming to be the highest.

As for your Harley Davidson and Ford stuff, what's your proof they aren't considered competion? Even if you are right, what does this have to do with Sony and Nintendo? Are you sure atleast one of them or the market doesn't consider them competition? Don't the retailers have them in the locations in the stores where competitors usually are?

So your reasoning that the Switch 2 will get a price cut by the end of 2027 is because $449 is a weird number?

And the Switch 1 had unique circumstances that stopped it getting a price cut but Switch 2 doesn't?

Lol.
