Forums - General - I feel like a criminal cleaning up the scene of a crime...

So I get an unexpected call tonight and it's my landlord. He tells me he's going to be showing my apartment tomorrow morning at 10am to people. Now my apartment isn't exactly the cleanest but that's not the major problem, it's my cat. The apartment I'm in doesn't allow pets and when I moved into it I didn't have one. I found the one I have now starving to death outside the building I worked at several years ago and ended up keeping him when nobody else would. So for the past few hours I have been trying to remove all traces that I own one.

My landlord is the type of person that can spot anything out of place so it's been a chore trying to make sure I remove any trace of fur from the place along with any toys that may be laying around, as well as any cat smells. Unfortunately I found several places where you can see cat claws on white paint (mainly around to doors) :( Of course I have no white paint to hide them but then again I'm moving out in 7 days so what's the worst he could do besides charge me some outrageous damage fee for something the cat did? :(

Did you give him a damage deposit check?

BEcause if you did then he can keep it. Otherwise, I think your pretty safe.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

No I didn't give him one. I'm just kind of worried I'm going to have to pay him for damages. The marks the cat made by the doors aren't too bad and with paint they wouldn't be noticeable but there's one place that will be impossible to fix that way (it's made of unpainted wood and it's under a window).

Depending on your countries laws you may have been able to refuse to let him in. I'm fairly sure here landlords must give 48 hours notice to tenents before inspections.
