Spectacular reviews for Astro Bot!

I'm very interested to see how well this sells. I'm expecting 10M+ units sold lifetime at the minimum.

I'm certainly hopeful, but seeing how Ratchet & Clank and Sackboy sold, I'm not holding my breath. Astro Bot is currently 14th in the US on the PS Store, but it looks like the game is worthy of selling 20M+ and sending a statement to the industry!

10m is very high for the type of game it is yes. Considering it was made by a small team of 65 people in 3 years it doesn't need to sell much to be a great success though.

Ratchet PS4 sold 7m, LBP3 sold 5.5m on PS4 (don't know ps3 numbers). Ratchet Rift Apart sold 4m on PS5 in it's first 2 years.

10m isn't impossible but would be a tough. 5m is very good for a family friendly title like this.

Yeah 5m is more what I'm expecting, but the game seemingly deserves at least to be a wakeup call to the industry. Concord being the other side of the coin lol. Which, who knows, maybe it doesn't need to sell absurd numbers to still make a statement. Word of mouth already is spreading like wildfire, so I'm hoping 10M has a high likelihood.

Makes sense why Sony pulled the plug on Concord so harshly now. They knew what about to release with Astro Bot. Wanted to give the game all the limelight rather than taking away from it with continuous articles about how poorly Concord was doing.

Oh man, looking at this makes Dreams not being ported to PS5/PC hurt all the more.

Missed opportunity , Dreams would have had a bigger userbase on PC.

Don't know if anyone has posted it here before but there's a full mario game on dreams lol. Super Mario Bros: Lumina (Gameplay Trailer) (youtube.com)

Not sure how long it will survive before Nintendo take issue with it, but it's kinda sad that this fangame is locked to dreams and on the other hand incredibly impressive.

Astro will be climbing the charts until launch day. Its already top 10 on Amazon for several countries. The glowing praise is going to help it stand out to the casual audience.

"As we celebrate 30 years of play, these upcoming activities and releases are just a taste of what’s to come. Be on the lookout for more announcements in the near future!"

They teasing a PS1 edition PS5 Pro?!?! Would be pretty dope. Nothing else screams a huge celebration though lol.

I'll take an upcoming State of Play without first party titles, a blog post reveal for the PS5 Pro, just for a PSX Anniversary Showcase lol.

Imagine a PSABR remaster being dropped on PlayStation Plus Premium during the 30th Anniversary?

Now that we are one day way from AstroBot's release and the shut down of Concord I must say .... a soul for a soul.

Come with be brothers, let's sacrifice everyone at Firewalk and offer their souls to our savior Team Asobi.

(I don't think it's needed but I'm going to clarify it anyway, this is a joke I don't condone violence against anyone just because they are terrible at their job).

Astrobot Rescue Mission was already an incredible game. It managed to feel so Nintendo and so Sony at the same time. It unbelievably managed to feel like a Mario game, and yet still feel like it's own thing.

It made me feel ready to play a pile of sequels and spinoffs. Even really great games haven't quite made me feel like that. Usually I'm skeptical of sequels, because I worry about there being too much push to make something different that it will lose what I enjoyed about the title.

But I felt ready for Astrobot 2, Astrobot Kart, Astrobot RPG.

Astro's Playroom was also a fun time. But it was very short and some of the "gimmicky" levels are only enjoyable the first couple times you play them.

All this to say, I am incredibly excited for Astro Bot. Team Asobi has been one of my top 3 Sony Studios since 2018. And I am absolutely thrilled to see them getting so much recognition.

Hoping the game is a huge success and that we can start seeing more like it.
