You know what. I think i would be interested in a handheld that played PS1, PS2, PSP, and maybe PSVita classics locally with PS4+PS5 streaming.

If this could exist, sure.
I think I'd settle for streaming as long as it wasn't remote play. It would make me more willing to buy classics too since I'd prefer to play those on the go.

This I wouldnt mind.
Would be great if we could get more classics released, its a slow drip release like the NSO classic games (though quicker than them in comparison lol).
One day I would like them to release a handheld with PS4 specs that just plays PS4 games. I feel like that would be a smash hit

I think it's too late for something like this to find enough success (Switch 2 should easily outperform PS4 and maybe PS4 Pro). They're better off launching an expensive ($500~) and less powerful PS5 handheld in 2024 or 2025, but it doesn't seem like they're interested. It might be impossible after all.
Hmm. Thoughts? I'm definitely mixed side. I probably would've preferred if it was also a cloud streaming device. Who knows, it still might be since this is just a report.
Report from Insider Gaming for Sony's next handheld, "Q Lite"
— Benji-Sales (@BenjiSales) April 5, 2023
• Remote Play with PS5 (not cloud streaming). PS5 required to use
• 1080p, 60fps streaming
• Prototype has 8 inch screen and adaptive triggers with haptic feedback

If it's remote only, and costs like $100, I would think about it.
If it's more than $100, then I think it needs something more. Like local play for older titles as I was saying, but that seems like a pipe dream.

Don't I need my PS5 to be constantly on in order to use this outside my house?
if so, this feels incredibly pointless to me, unless there's something I'm missing here.

It can also be in rest mode.
Which may be a deal breaker for some.
I have no interest in a handheld for the PS5 even if its at an attractive price point but the current rumors are in line with what I expected Sony to do. However, without cloud streaming, I can't see this taking off.
Having your PlayStation library on the go is the biggest selling point of this device.
