It's about the oil and the billionaire donors who were promised a payoff. Even if Maduro had agreed to every term, this still ends the same way, regime change, Wall Street on standby, and executives circling Venezuela like it's a clearance sale.
Overthrowing a regime is the easy part. It's easy to be on TV and do a victory lap. Building a stable, sustainable government is the part that almost always fails. From here on out, everything that happens in Venezuela belongs to Trump.
