@mrstickball It's true that when Oblivion for the PS3 was released later it got Knights of the Nine for free, but to this date, it still hasn't received or even had the opportunity to download any of the other DLC, like Mehrune's Razor, or Pirate's Cove, etc. so it's hardly a decent comparison in the grand scale. At least with the PC version of Mass Effect, they will get all of what's coming to the 360, and for free.

Mind citing an article, karma, that states that Mass Effect for PC will get all future content for free?
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Read a little through BioWare's forums and the issue was brought up but never answered by BioWare. A post later by a community coordinator mentioned something about the public not needing to know how they or their partners do business, so to this date nothing is known about future content being free of charge, so it's mostly food for thought at the moment with no way to confirm or deny but accept as a possibility, so I retract my statement only in as much as lets it be known as speculation. Judging from EA, and since, as publisher, they've the final say, they'll probably charge for different renderings of dirt, lol.

I would've rated it much higher
The gameplay may have gotten a little boring ,but the story..... I really got immersed in the universe and read every little thing I could find.
And to fully experience it, you had to take your time. It took me 22-28 hours to beat the game, and You can replay it and get a different story!
And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... shio - If you beat ME in 12 hours, and are complaining about length and story, I believe the problem is with you and not the game. Although I don't doubt you beat it that quickly, it's very appearent at that sort of speed, you skipped either alot of dialogue, alot of crew interactions, and/or alot of side missions. So I don't see how it's possible to complain, again, when you didn't take the time to go through it fully. For most owners of the game that play through the story, the first trip to the Citadel + it's available side missions alone take 4+hrs if you actually read the dialogue, and explore the game. So again, I don't see how you can judge the game when you took no time to actually enjoy the game. And just wondering, why is the Witcher better when the critic scores are about 15% in favor of Mass Effect, on average? I'm not doubting the Witcher is good (because I'd love to buy it for my 360), but...Just from user/critic reviews...It seems that the Witcher wasn't anywhere near the RPG GOTY like ME was. |
I did not rush ME, I went at my own pace and I would never skip dialogue (my fave RPG is Planescape: Torment). Mass Effect is just short and has lackluster boring side-quests.
The Witcher was never hyped. It came from an unknown polish dev, CDProjekt, and many reviewers just gave it a could shoulder thinking it was just another boring RPG. But many people that have played both games seem to prefer the Witcher.
user reviews wise, The Witcher is ahead of Mass Effect. On metacritic:
Mass Effect - 8.7, from 464 votes
The Witcher - 9.4, from 348 votes
The enhanced edition of The Witcher (out in may/june) is going to make it even better, by fixing it's 2 main problems (loading times and fighting precision), adding content worth 5 hours of gameplay, while also rewriting 5000 dialogues and redoing some voicework, 100 new animations and facial expressions, and a whole lot of tweaking.

People have said the DLC will be free on the PC version.
ATM its only 400 points, and soon, probably when the PC version comes out, it will be free too.
I got my Mass Effect on launch week from Gamestation brand new for £20 quid anyway, some how lol

Try a site where nobody can just write "Mass peice 'o crap" with the click of a button
On gamespot:
mass effect: 9.2 based on 1052 user reviews
The witcher: 8.8 based on 322 user reviews
this actually makes more sense, sales-wise, since pc games don't sell as much as console games. (And mass effect has sold ALOT.)
