How much did both of these sell worldwide?

In USA only, I think GoW is at 1 million copies. A lot lower than GoW1. Wonder how much GoW3 will sell. MGS PSP, about 350k in Japan. Doesn´t appear as a million seller in the Worldwide million sellers chart.

All I know is that there were certain people here that hyped GOW2 like it would sell 10 million. Of course those same people downplayed Pokemon, so I guess there are people who have no foundation in reality.

 GoW  sold 2 million over 3 years, GoW 2 is selling at a smiliar rate, GoW started very slowly to become a big seller.

i cant imagine GoW2 seeling less than 5 mill worldwide..havnt played it, but graphically looks like it doesnt belong on ps2..imo ... some of by friends thought it was a "next-gen" game.

EDIT: damn,GoW only sold 2+mill in the us..thought it was a more in the 3-4....

Does anyone know how GoW (Both games) sold in the other territories? I'm pretty sure the series isn't relevant in Japan, but I thought it was doing well in Europe/Other.

Yeah, I included God of War in my "most overrated console sellers" list. Not that it's a bad game, mind you -- that's not the point -- the point is that people associate with other top-flight titles like Gran Turismo that sell consoles, and it is absolutely no where close to that league. To give you an idea: God of War I and II combined have been outsold by "Simpsons: Hit and Run." Combined, mind you.

Again, just to put out flames before they start: I'm not saying it's a bad game. The point is that regardless of how good it may or may not be, it's a much less popular franchise than others, like GTA, Halo and GT, which really do sell systems. 

 Do you not see a target audience difference between Gow and GT ?

I absolutely agree, they have different target audiences. Can you please explain how that affects what I said at all? That's not a coy request -- I'd like to know how this affects and/or refutes my post.
