on the Playstations, everyone made money, on the Wii (and the 64 and GC) almost only Nintendo makes money with some exceptions

you mean Monster Hunter 3? that one needs to get released yet, and if it does well it's just one step in the right direction for the Wii

1/ it will be bigger in term of sales (+150 M)
EVEN IF the PS2 will continue to sell WW ...

2/ it will be bigger than the PS2 for the casuals/non gamers

3/ it will be less big for the hardcore gamers compared to the PS2 that was a masterpiece like NES/SNES/PS but not like Wii.

Nintendo consoles are too well built to fail and therefore wont need to be repurchased in numbers like PS2.

people who say the wii made gaming what it is are crazy.

1. Sony was the first EVER to sell 100 million systems.
Their are a couple dozen MILLION casual gamers that got a ps2 way before any nintendo product. Sony made a way for casual gaming.

2. Nintendos highest selling console system was what 60 million? Sony ps1 killed that and made gaming MAINSTREAM. (Sony did that 10 years ago NOT nintendo)

3. Sony has the highest console price in history to sell 10 million consoles and will one day sell more hardware and software then xbox 360 (with its year head start)

4. Nintendo will sell loads and be the industry leader but intill it sells 120 million plus then and ONLY then has it expanded the market.

Sony took what sega and nintendo started as a hardcore nich industry and turned it into a billion dollar industry that it is. Nintendo is using its merits and skills (which they do have) to take SONYS market of casuals. And intill they expand the market with sales of hardware and software then ill say nintendo expanded it.

OT: No system will ever do what sony playstation has done. it paved the way for profits for 3rd parties and made the industry worth while for parents, kids, hardcore gamers and casuals.

that sony we used to kow is no more. And no, Sony didnt start gaming as we know it, Nintendo did, then sony played smart  and expanded on it. Now it's nintendo turn to fully reach the masses.

Different opinions are the best thing in the world. I won't force mine on anyone, so lets just let the TC say what he believes, comment with our beliefs, and move on. 

Hmm, I disagree with this. I think a consoles strength lies in the power of its library and its userbase, not in its hardware. Of course, I could be wrong. :P

he is wrong, the ps2 and ps1 might have been the worst hardware sony ever created, but were huge successul nonetheless.
