Tbh if they actually gave a good reason for it to be blocked, I'd accept that, these reasons are absolute garbage though, filled with flaws, speculative nonsense which could set very dangerous precedents, I for one don't think "big company shouldn't be allowed to acquire because it's a big company" and we should actually look at the market data and the facts, rather than make random speculation to justify a block.

And yeah once this happens, people can't resist taking pot shots at Xbox, usually based on grudges held for over 10 years

Yeah, I don't even care anymore. Just judging by what Ryuu has said about the CMA... I'm doubting an appeal will change much but maybe it will considering the CMA's rationale behind blocking it is based solely on Cloud Gaming (a market that's in its infancy, so idk how the CMA is trying to preemptively determine that a new and emerging market is in need of protection). Plus this market isn't even guaranteed to ever get off the ground (regulating it at this stage is a good way to ensure it doesn't pick up).

Side note, y'all think MS could try to go after other developers now? Since the CMA and EC have both dropped the console arguments, I don't see much of a reason for MS to not go after other studios now. Honestly feels like MS has been on auto-pilot ever since they announced the ABK deal and it's really starting to hurt Xbox hardware.

Same as their plan after Zenimax, unless another publisher falls into their lap.

Both Zenimax and Activision-Blizzard were good timing moments.

Zenimax was privately owned and the owners wanted out as they were getting old.

Activision-Blizzard would never have sold if not for the controversy and Microsoft never would have attempted to acquire them.
