Get word out before actually showing it off at next month's showcase.

Why, would it not be better to just announce it in the showcase? Doesn't seem they have much to show about it.  Gears community is very mixed at the moment about it. without 2 and 3 it is very light especially for horde fans or Beast mode fans. That's like 50% of the community.

To not overshadow E-Day would be my guess, which this announcement most likely confirms E-Day will be present next month with a 2026 release.

  • Gears 1 was remastered with Gears UE.
  • It's now being remastered again.
  • Halo Combat Evolved was remastered with Halo CEA.
  • 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

I'm feeling pretty confident that Gears 2 and 3 will also receive remasters but maybe they've made the decision to sell them separately, with Gears coming to PlayStation is makes complete sense to remaster them all for a franchise which is still ongoing and has a story to wrap up, it'd be weird for PS users to experience Gears 1 then Gears 6 and nothing in between, Lmao.

Tbf, it's technically Gears 6 to Gears 1 as far as story goes. So it's not like PS users will be lost.

I think he meant that their will be a Gears 6 for sure (not E-day) so they need to have the games on PS aswell in the future. Hmm no switch 2 version (yet)

2006 is back on the menu, boys!!!

Ubisoft could unironically earn some goodwill with a Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter remaster.  lol

Throw in a Rainbow Six: Vegas remaster as well!

This is becoming a peak nostalgia year with Oblivion Remaster and Gears Remaster, Lol. It's a shame Fable couldn't make it in 2025, it would have been nostalgia overload. You could also say Ninja Gaiden 4 since the IP has been dead for 13 years and was originally heavily associated with Xbox.

I kind of thought so too then I thought it's a remaster of a remaster and their last remaster they just shadow dropped without a prior announcement at all, Lol. Gears Remaster Remaster will probably be overshadowed by new games at the June showcase so maybe better to get the word out now, like G2 said, and then show it off at the June showcase with gameplay.

I feel like Microsoft has announced games in May before as well right before the June showcase but can't remember what.

Not microsoft but Fallout 4 did it but that one made sense, tease, then big blowout at showcase and release it some months later perfect.

Isn't this pretty much the same? Announce in May, a full reveal at the June showcase, release a couple months later.

It's only a remaster and short-cycle marketing campaigns are what everyone has been asking for.

I suppose they could have waited to announce it at the June showcase but I don't really feel like it makes any difference.

Oh right lol. Since Coalition consider E-Day a mainline release, I keep associating it as Gears 6 lol. Gotta hope the rest of the games are getting the same treatment.

What I mean is PlayStation users who have never experienced Gears will only experience Gears 1 and Gears 6 (when it gets made) which would be weird because they'd miss out the whole middle chunk, all the character development of Marcus, Cole, Baird, etc. I don't think Gears 4-5 need a remaster, they'll just be a simple port, but Gears 2-3 should be remastered and not just ported to PS. I think remastering Gears 2-3 makes too much sense to not do it.

Fable doesn't have the same problem because Fable is a reboot.

Okay I'm not the only one who noticed this term lol

PlayStation lucked out this Gen huh. Having the worst generation they’ve ever had, releasing practically nothing minus 1 first party game a year, truly shitting the bed behaviour and just like that Xbox is throwing up hands and being like “here you never asked for it but take all my lunch money please” 🙃

God, I love being a PlayStation gamer sometimes.

Daniel noticed it too.
