that's what makes me doubt it personally, I just been seeing a shit ton of speculation of it being a 3D NG on X/Resetera lol

That actually makes me even more convinced, if they're bringing the IP back then why not do it in a big way, a 2D project and a 3D project, they won't clash with each other and they'll be developed by two different teams. It matches the description of legendary IP and it has a lot of history with Xbox, plus with how good Nioh was, it is time to bring back Ninja Gaiden.

I feel like i'm abusing this spoiler text but it could very well be the case, I thought the hint was just legendary JP IP with decades of history, did anyone specify that it was history with XBOX? It would make sense to reveal a new NG at an xbox show and I guess 2D and 3D entries are vastly different. I guess I envisioned a franchise that might've skipped xbox or was more up in the air for the surprise.

There was one series you could say that did not have a history with Xbox but could be considered a legendary Japanese IP with decades of history but the next entry to that is coming out on Xbox.
