IGN: After spending a few hours playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, it’s clear now that MachineGames's first-person romp is more of an adventure-action game than an action-adventure one, and I love it for that.

Gamespot: There's no doubt that developer MachineGames understands the look and feel of Indy, but questions have lingered around its ability to capture playing as the globetrotter. Now that we've had some hands-on time with the game, it's clear to me MachineGames understands more than just the aesthetic of Indiana Jones, but also what it means to be Indiana Jones.

Wccftech: Overall, I had a great experience with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and I can't wait to dive back into the world once more when the game officially releases. It was highly immersive, the characters were well-designed, the world design was stunning, and it was a really well-polished experience. It's perfect for those who are new and returning to the Indiana Jones franchise, or want a game that feels similar to what Tomb Raider and Uncharted offer.

Eurogamer: After three hours with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, we came away impressed by how well developer MachineGames has captured the spirit of the films.

VideoGamesChronicle: The Wolfenstein dev’s latest adventure in Nazi punching could be the best Indy since the 80s…

GamesRadar: I played Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for three hours and the attention to detail made my Indiana Jones-loving heart soar

Metro: Bethesda and MachineGames seek fortune and glory in a big budget adaptation of Indiana Jones that plays as good as it looks.

WindowsCentral: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle truly "gets" the soul of one of the greatest adventure trilogies ever. (Yes, trilogy.)

PCMag: We played the upcoming Indiana Jones game for a few hours, and it feels good punching Nazis. Despite some hit or miss gameplay, the game is about as faithful as I could hope as an Indy fan.

PCGamer: After three hours with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, I don't think it's the grand adventure MachineGames is pitching—it's just a fairly basic stealth game

PC Gamer is awful, why am I not surprised that they are basically the only site that came away unimpressed by Indiana Jones.

id Tech putting in work. Shame it's so underutilized.

Great to hear how the game is more of an Adventure-Action game rather than Action-Adventure. This isn't Uncharted or Tomb Raider. Solving puzzles first and foremost, avoiding combat if you can, and if you have to, it's only ever a small group of enemies rather than mowing down dozens of enemies.

Can't wait to play my first proper Indy game in at least 20 years.

Yeah, I wish that Xbox would utilize it on more of their 1st party studios. Instead they have nearly all of them on Unreal 5 now, which is going to make alot of games look "samey". Doesn't help that Unreal 5 games have largely had framerate issues so far, though recent Unreal 5 updates were designed to address those performance issues, with the Matrix Awaken UE5 demo recently seeing 40% CPU and 20% GPU performance improvements after they moved it from 5.0 to 5.4.

Seems like Indiana Jones is getting very positive previews from almost everyone.

Except PC Gamer.

Why in God's name does Microsoft continues to invite those people to previews (or even give them review codes at all)? They must be masochists.

Relatively well know publication but yes they're negative about practically everything lately, Lol. If Microsoft dropped them though then they'd be accused of trying to cherry pick reviewers for only positive ones.

I personally prefer faster paced combat over stealth. I ran in guns blazing when I played Dishonored, rather than doing stealth. But for Indiana Jones a more adventure game with action and combat coming second makes a lot more sense. I am looking forward to punching nazis in the face.

Makes sense for Indiana Jones too but while punching Nazis is fun, I do miss running through rooms blasting Nazis guns blazing, I miss Wolfenstein! We've got to finish it! We've got to kill Hitler!
