Cause it felt like a show made by some xbox people who just went to some partners and ask if they may show the game during a partner showcase.

While it would have been nice to show 'new' partners who bring games to xbox/Gamepass....

And best of all investments you made in studios projects with partners 'Contraband//People can fly game etc.

Lol, I seriously don't understand your first point.

As for the other point, Contraband is 1st party, this is a Partner Preview, it has never been about 1st party, it has never shown 1st party, they've made clear already that these Partner Previews are strictly about 3rd parties. People Can Fly will also be 1st party, those are only shown during Developer Directs or main showcases (E3/Gamescom/TGAs).

What is not to understand? What else did they do then for the direct?

Contraband is my mistake I thought it was a third party game because I only have heard about Avalanche studios and no other first party studio names. But my point still stand that I want them to make games with partners/investments etc.

I bet Square is regretting signing that exclusivity deal right about now. This is retail only, but the PS5 install base in Japan is over 1m above where it was when FF16 released last June (Square Enix told shareholders that PS5's lower install base was the reason why 16 underperformed), so unless the digital/physical ratio hugely grew since just last June, FF7 Rebirth moved less copies than FF16.

If a similar situation happened outside of Japan, Square is going to be hurting for sure, they already lost a good bit of their stock value due to FF16 (and other games) underperforming, dropping from a high of 26 per share down to a low of 16 per share, and though a strong Holiday quarter partially recovered some of that loss, back up to 20 a share, their stock value will likely start dropping again if FF7 Rebirth underperformed.

Rebirth will likely sell fewer copies than Remake because it is exclusive to PS5, whereas Remake is available on both PS4 and PS5. Hope the deal they got from Sony was worth it.

Bought some nice physical Xbox 360 games as of late:
- The Orange Box
- Halo Reach
- Halo 4
- Dreamcast Collection
- Enslaved
- Fuzion Frenzy 2
- Red Faction Guerrilla

I figured Rebirth would sell at least more than 16 considering Rebirth is the direct continuation of a hugely popular game, and really caters to everything that the FF playerbase loves about the franchise. Minus the turn-based combat lol. And 16 was a highly divisive release to the playerbase. But maybe that divisiveness helped 16? idk lol

If Rebirth sells less than 16 worldwide though, SE will see a massive issue on their hands.

Nice pickup for your collection btw

I would have thought as well. I'm really enjoying the game, but maybe splitting the game in 3 parts makes it more difficult finding an audience?

Love the way this sounds!
