Why not at least try turning the ship around for a year or two with all these aquisitions..... this is truly the only platform having these rumours and L's every now and then.

I believe the disconnect is that how you view the Xbox and MS gaming brand is not the same as how MS sees it.  You believe MS is concerned about the console war and thus must keep everything exclusive.  As another poster said, even Sony realized that console exclusive just isn't funding the cost of these games as it us to.  Look at the cost of most of Sony exclusive and they are huge.  Even still, MS is more focused on being a game publisher and service company than a console OEM.  The fact you consider it an L is why you might be looking at the market in the past.  The health of MS and the Xbox brand isn't going to be tied down to just the Xbox and MS has already moved away from that mindset.

Yeah sure, like Microsoft has never been wrong with strategy. They seem to be the ones disconnected with their fanbase. It is also not as if I am the only one having these doubts. Xbox brand itself is already completely dead in Europe. Which they have themselves to blame for.

Damnit, I was looking forward to it early in the year, oh well, I'll be busy with Infinite Wealth and Dragon's Dogma 2 anyway.

Kiln it is. Maybe. If they even do a shadow drop.

Time for the next Obsidian RPG banger.

Graphics be damned, Obsidian's dialogue scenes look better than Starfield's even back then.

Hope we get a lot of info on the RPG mechanics.

Hopefully the graphics have improved a noticeable amount since the summer showcase. The one Obsidian dev that did damage control after the Summer Showcase said that the Summer Showcase footage was pre-alpha and said there would be graphics and lighting improvements. He also said that in the next gameplay showing (presumably talking about this Developer Direct) that we would see many more areas of the map, and that not all of them would be as bright and cheery looking as the areas they showed in the Summer Showcase.

Someone said the trailer was done out of house and they turned up the saturation which if you look at the in-game images released afterwards, backs up that statement that some external company hastily edited the trailer.

It looks good, Imo, based on those images.

Surprisingly long development cycle on that game. Stoic released their last game in July 2018, so 2nd half 2024 release means 6+ years development time. All 4 of Stoic's previous games received 2 years of development or less (Banner Saga Factions released 1 year after the studio opened, Banner Saga 1 released 1 year after that, and then there were 2 years between 1 and 2 and between 2 and 3). Hopefully Towerborne is a huge masterpiece of a game considering it will have more development time than Banner Saga 1, 2, and 3 combined.

They may also not have a shadow drop because Indiana Jones was the "surprise"

Do we know if IJ is using ID Tech 7 or Unreal Engine?

Looked on the Zenimax Jobs site for Machine and between the 3 job listings I looked at, none mentioned Unreal Engine experience as a requirement or bonus, while idTech experience was listed as a bonus. So I'm assuming they are either using idTech 7 or were given early access to the upcoming idTech 8 as id themselves use it on their next game.

God, ID's next game on ID Tech 8...

Only one game used ID Tech 7 and that was Eternal.

2024 is looking great but I'm already incredibly hyped for 2025

Perfect Dark, State of Decay 3, Fable, ID Software?

And anything which has a shot at 2024 but doesn't quite make it like maybe South of Midnight.

I also think Clockwork Revolution is further along than we think.
