I doubt they ever stopped planning for the future.  They more than likely have many things already planned, regardless of what the outcome of the ABK acquisition was going to be.

After playing the new forza it makes me even more disappointed that gt7 wasn't next gen exclusive. forza looks almost like a generational leap over gt7. Hopefully the next gt is out relatively soon and really shows off what they can do with the ps5.

Idk, but for now all the limelight and praise should go to Turn 10 for the remarkable achievement they were able to pull off. They really took advantage of the extra years they were given for development. 

Wow, so apparently CD Projekt announced that the budget of the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion was over $80m. CD Projekt's own Witcher 3 had an $81m budget in 2015. In 8 years time we have reached a point where the budget of an expansion is equivalent to an entire 150+ hour RPG in 2015.

Yeah, it's pretty noticeable imo, even on some of GT7's better looking tracks Forza still looks more natural and realistic:

Forza's foliage generation looks much more randomized and realistic there while GT7 looks like it has the same few tree models copy-pasted alot. The lighting and how it reacts with the world looks much more realistic, especially on certain times of the day.
