He will, not immediately but I doubt he sticks around, not only have very reputable business newspapers reported that he is planning on leaving after the acquisition closes, the way Bobby has spoken in the past indicates he won't be around for long "I've committed to MS for as long or as little as they need me to help with the integration" Note that he only says to help with the integration, not anything about staying any longer.
They won't need Bobby anymore, Activision has a President (Rob Kostich) and Blizzard has a President (Mike Ybarra), they both report to Bobby right now but after acquisition, Bobby will report to Phil, Bobby becomes an overpaid middleman, skip the middleman and have Kostich/Ybarra report directly to Phil. Having said that, I just realised I made a point where hiring Shawn would be pointless too, Lol. Meh.
Bobby ain't going to get away with the same type of shit he does at Activision as he will at Microsoft, he won't have as much free reign to be a dickhead, he won't have as much free reign to give himself ridiculous bonuses. He's going to be on a much tighter leash. I think frankly that someone like Bobby simply wouldn't like reporting to Phil, Bobby doesn't strike me as the type of person who would be happy being someone's subordinate.
He's an egotistical dickhead, he will hate Phil being his boss, Imo. The dude is now 60 years old and he is about to get a massive retirement fund, he doesn't need to work for the rest of his life, he has more than enough money now, I believe one of the reasons he sought out an acquisition was so he could retire and get away from all the drama, half his company hates him, Lol.
I'd be surprised if he stays longer than a year, I'm betting around 6 months.
